As a Software Engineer I here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be responsible for verifying that the software correctly implements the documented requirements and ensures that test standards, guidelines and DO-178 objectives are complied with.
You will report directly to our Sr Software Engineering Manager, and work out of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin working 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid schedule, 3 days in the office and 2 days offsite.
Key Responsibilities:
The Key Responsibilities of this role are divided into three areas: Technological & Business, Strategic and Planning /Communication.
TECHNOLOGICAL & BUSINESS:
- Performs the following tasks under minimal supervision from the Test Lead:
- Requirement Analysis
- Test Strategy & Design
- Test Development
- Test Execution & Debug
- Reviews (Requirement & test)
- Formal Testing (RFS & SC)
- Certification Support
- Support the Test Experts in deploying new initiatives - Tools, test methodologies etc
- Provides verification deliverables, as per DO-178 / SW V&V CoE Process, to the Program Lead and North America V&V Manager
STRATEGIC IMPACT:
- Performs Test Procedure Handbook Maintenance
- Coordinates with the Pro-Tech group for Process / Technical improvements
PLANNING /COMMUNICATION:
- The Test Engineer I reports program issue to Program Lead(s) for the program(s) that they are working on.
- Provides performance Metrics (EV) to the North America V&V Manager
- Provides Improvement ideas / Opportunities to the Pro-Tech group/member
- Interfaces with Program Lead, V&V Manager, Test Expert, Development Team, Program Lead, Pro-Tech Group, various process improvement groups
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
