At DroneDeploy, we thrive in a remote-first culture, powered by innovation. Growth is limitless, and employee contributions matter. With accolades as a Best Place to Work in the SF Bay Area and a spot on America’s Best Startups list, our team is dynamic, purpose-driven, and dedicated to delivering top-tier reality capture software. We cultivate an environment of opportunity. Our dynamic growth is fueled by the diverse range of ideas nurtured by our team. This is why our commitment to internal advancement is profound. A multitude of paths for professional and personal development are available, where flexible schedules, family-friendly benefits, and remote work options propel our team's journey.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a high-performing engineer with prior work experience in Sales/Marketing— ideally someone who started their career in Sales Ops, Marketing Ops, or a Sales/Marketing role at a B2B SaaS business, and then transitioned into engineering. You’ve already learned how to work in a fast-paced environment, how a SaaS Go To Market motion works and now you want to apply your Engineering skills to build scalable tools using AI, automation, and modern engineering practices to drive efficiency and productivity in a modern GTM environment.
This role is designed for someone who can hit the ground running: writing clean code, collaborating across teams, and delivering production-level tools. They’re willing to talk to end-users, do lightweight design, full-stack development and get energized by driving impact through deployed and used code.
You’ll be reporting to the co-founder and collaborating with GTM leadership on high-impact projects that will drive sales efficiency across the business using cutting edge technologies and ideas.
Work Environment:
> Work Hours: Be available during Monday - Friday, 9am time to 3pm Pacific Time for team meetings and collaboration (feel free to extend normal work day on either end).
> Work Model: 100% remote okay, open to a Hybrid model in the SF Bay Area (2 - 3 days in person) if in the area and interested.
> Work Travel: No travel requirements, but some company gatherings would be available and appreciated if you could join.
Responsibilities:
- Build internal and customer/prospect facing tools to help accelerate our GTM motion using AI.
- Work with stakeholders across GTM teams (Sales, Marketing, CS, Support, RevOps) to understand needs and rapidly prototype solutions.
- Work with Marketing Ops, Sales Ops and Enablement to deploy, measure the impact of, and refine approaches based on pre-defined metrics.
- Quickly iterate on tools based on end-user feedback and usage/utilization.
- Apply software development best practices, design patterns, and testing frameworks.
- Create reusable code libraries/MCP servers to enable consumption of new tools in a variety of places (creating a library of internal AI enrichment tooling).
- Common tech stack would be:
- Backend (Python): FastAPI/Flask, SQLAlchemy, Pandas, Pydantic
- Frontend (JS): React Typescript, Tailwind, but JS/CSS is totally fine
- APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, VertexAI, Perplexity, MCP, Salesforce, Clay, Outreach, Slack, Twillio etc..
- Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to pull customer usage/engagement data and leverage in tooling.
- Creating documentation and ‘run-books’ for productionized solutions so others can debug if things go wrong.
Requirements:
- Former GTM Professional (2+ years in Sales Ops, Marketing Ops, RevOps, Sales or Marketing) prior to transitioning to software engineering (prior experience building tools for Sales/Marketing also okay).
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript, with experience in both frontend and backend development.
- Familiarity with AI tools via APIs (no need to know how to train/fine-tune/RL models).
- Awareness of and curiosity about the AI Landscape (different models/paradigms, tools being used the wild).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, version control, and modern tooling.
- Good communication skills, and excited to hear from end-users on what’s working and what’s not.
- A builder’s mindset with a bias toward action and experimentation.
