POSITION SUMMARY

As a Software Engineer, Full Stack (could be Senior SWE or SWE3 level) you will design, develop, and maintain full-stack software applications and services to support upcoming projects. You have experience in building user-facing web applications and have a passion for great user experience with a great eye for design. You're comfortable leveraging APIs and services, local and cloud-based, to deliver these experiences to users. You'll use these skills, along with tools like React, Nest.js, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and AWS services. Together with the talented Engineering Team, Product Managers and Designers, you will work on new and exciting experiences for our customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the architecture and product teams to drive complex system design.

  • Perform code reviews and mentor the development team with best practices.

  • Make key design and technical implementation on the complex system and help guide engineering vision.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements, and transform into highly scalable and reliable, developer-friendly microservices APIs

  • Design, build and maintain highly sustainable systems to support our business applications.

  • Continue improving process and procedure and evangelizing best practices.

  • Be a contributing team member to the end-to-end execution of compliance initiatives.

  • Be responsible for practicing technical design, developing new functionality and maintaining existing components.

  • This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job.

  • Must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire.

  • Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of overall software development experience, preferably secure, scalable web applications with frontend and backend web technologies

The following are specifically desirable:

  • Experience with TypeScript

  • Experience with Node.js backends and frameworks, especially Nest.js

  • Experience with GraphQL

  • Experience with React for frontend development

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and/or ECS

  • Experience with cloud providers, AWS is preferred

  • Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL), noSQL experience is also helpful

  • Strong relational database skills including database design and optimization

  • Experience with micro-service enterprise architecture, cross-platform integration, and building scalable applications in heterogeneous environments

  • Experience with software development lifecycle process from build, software configuration, change control, and release and deployment activities

  • Demonstrated teamwork skills with a solid analytical background

  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

  • Healthcare IT experience is beneficial, but not required

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Full-stack web application programming

  • JavaScript / TypeScript

  • React

  • Relational Database and SQL Programming, prefer PostgreSQL

  • REST and GraphQL APIs and other Web service backend technologies

  • AWS infrastructure

  • AWS Services, such as SQS, S3 and SNS, Redshift, RDS, EKS

  • Docker, Kubernetes or container-oriented technologies

  • CI / CD, specifically GitLab CI

  • Quality Assurance Mindset; Nice to have: familiarity with regulated environment

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
