We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full stack Java Software Engineer to join our Access Management & Authorization (AMA) product team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, securing, and maintaining the core platform that governs access, authorization, and policy-based access control.

You will work on modernizing our existing Access Management systems, developing robust new features, and ensuring the high availability, security, and scalability of our access services. Along with development, you will share operational ownership of the product, tech refresh, continuous product stability & efficiency improvements including participating in a rotational on-call support schedule.

Responsibilities

What you will do...

  • Software Developer: Responsible for all elements of software development with end-to-end accountability.
  • Architecture & Design: Selects architecture direction with input from the architect/Super Anchor.
  • Roadmap Management: Actively manages the long-term delivery roadmap of the software product.
  • Engineering Mentorship: Guides and coaches other software engineers on product teams.
  • Pair Programming: Develops software, often with a paired partner, to deliver user stories that contribute to a valuable working software product.
  • Automated Testing: Develops automated tests with working software, to confirm software functionality, user story acceptance, and to detect regression defects.
  • Continuous Integration Operations: Reviews continuous integration build status and fixes build failures.
  • CI/CD Tooling Optimization: Improves continuous integration tooling by automating manual processes within the delivery pipeline and improving quality gates based on past learnings.
  • Production System Operations: Reviews ongoing production software operations, troubleshoots production issues, and provides rotational basis on-call support schedule (24x7 for Critical/High incidents)
  • Monitoring & Telemetry: Implements tooling that monitors application performance metrics and automatically notifies the team when a failure occurs in production.
  • Exploratory Quality Assurance: Performs exploratory testing to confirm application execution and to identify software deficiencies not covered by automated testing.
  • Agile Collaboration: Actively participates in all team Agile ceremonies.
  • Talent Growth & Interviewing: Screens candidates for placement onto product teams.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Organizes team learning events to foster continuous growth and team skill progression.
Qualifications

You will have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field OR a combination of education and experience
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience 
  • Deep expertise in Core Java (Java 11 or higher) and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data), hands-on experience with modern frontend technologies such as Angular, React
  • Proven experience building highly secure Microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed enterprise platforms
  • Solid experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL/caching databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)
  • Experience with build automation using Gradle, automated deployment pipelines (Jenkins, Tekton), and source code repositories (Git, Accurev)
  • Working experience with Cloud platforms, with a strong preference for Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Daily proficiency with IDEs (Eclipse or IntelliJ), agile planning tools (CA Agile Central/Rally or Jira), and ServiceNow for incident, change, and ticket management

  • Solid understanding of federation and authentication protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML 2.0, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Strong knowledge of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), and Policy-Based Access Control (PBAC)
  • Experience integrating with LDAP, Active Directory, or Azure AD / Entra ID

SOUTHEAST MI RESIDENTS: This role is posted as remote unless you reside within 50 miles of Dearborn, MI-in which case we request on-site presence up to 4 days a week.

This position is a range of salary grade(s) 8 | $99,100 - $166,200
