NextGen Federal Systems is a leader in providing innovative IT solutions to federal agencies. We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to remotely support our federal customer located in Clarksburg, WV. Responsibilities
- Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
- Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.
- Designs or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
- Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
- Researches, designs, develops, and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing applications.
- Sets operational specifications and formulates and analyzes software requirements.
- Designs embedded systems software.
- Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of work experience.
- Active Tier 3 Secret clearance.
- Java (OOP) Full Stack Development with proficiency programming in Java
Required Skills
- Proficient with Java Object-Oriented Programming
- Experience with Kubernetes and containers; automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications
- Experience with Cloud-native architectures
- Event-driven architectures; streaming (preferred).
Desired Skills
- Experience with Apache Kafka
- Pub/Sub (Publish, subscribe).
- Streaming experience, is a plus
- Event sources
- Experience running GitOps (GitLab, Git, Bitbucket, ArgoCD, Tecton, etc.) within version control tools.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for version control management, is a plus.
