About The Role

We’re looking for a creative, meticulously organized, seasoned and Japan-obsessed Social Media Lead to bring our travel experiences to life. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, defining, and running all social media channels for our budding Japan business. You should have experience sourcing and working with creators, videographers and photographers, experience creating and managing content calendars and managing production schedules. The ideal candidate is a phenomenal storyteller with a strong sense of visual style, cultural sensitivity, and editorial instinct. You should be deeply curious about Japanese destinations and culture, and excited to create content that blends inspiration with information. This is a highly creative role with plenty of room for experimentation and ownership, and an opportunity to shape how our audience dreams, plans, and books trips to Japan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create original content across platforms that showcases our Japan tours, destinations, and experiences.
  • Produce short-form video, photography, and graphics to support organic and paid campaigns.
  • Repurpose itineraries, partner assets, and travel insights into compelling, platform-native content.
  • Work hand in hand with creators, photographers, videographers ,and travel suppliers in Japan to create exceptional content
  • Build and manage content calendars and production schedules 
  • Analyze engagement, trends and analytical data to optimize performance and inform future content.
  • Find, vet and manage teams of freelancers to create assets and content
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in social media management, marketing production, or brand marketing — ideally in travel, hospitality, or lifestyle
  • Deep personal interest in Japan—whether through travel, language, culture, or design
  • Strong visual sensibility and creative instincts for content that performs well on social
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar creative tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple workstreams at once
  • Familiar with scheduling platforms and analytics dashboards
  • Japanese language proficiency strongly preferred 
  • Video editing skills, on-camera experience, or a personal content portfolio
Compensation

Compensation range for this role is $80k-$100k + equity. Other benefits include:
