Why Mozilla?

Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company that has shaped the internet for the better over the last 25 years. We make pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser. Now, with more than 225 million people around the world using our products each month, we’re shaping the next 25 years of technology and helping to reclaim an internet built for people, not companies. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media, security and more. And we’re doing this while never losing our focus on our core mission – to make the internet better for people.

The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit 501(c) Mozilla Foundation. This means we aren’t beholden to any shareholders — only to our mission. Along with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world, Mozillians design, build and distribute open-source software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.

About the Role and Team:

Mozilla is seeking a visionary Social Strategy Manager to drive and implement an ambitious content strategy for our advertising business. This is a rare opportunity to shape the narrative of a people-first advertising ecosystem — one that is effective, privacy-preserving, and fundamentally different from the status quo.

As a senior member of Mozilla’s content team, you will play a pivotal role in growing and engaging the Anonym, our privacy-preserving ad platform, and Mozilla Ads communities. Your mission: To craft compelling narratives, fuel meaningful industry conversations, and position Mozilla as the top voice in next-gen, privacy-first advertising.

About You:

You are a storyteller and strategist with a deep understanding of social media, community building digital culture, and what makes content resonate. You are entrenched in the technology, advertising or media landscape. You know how to cut through the noise — using cultural insights, emerging platforms, and influential voices to shift industry perspectives. You’re “extremely online,” tapped into digital conversations, and thrive at the intersection of content, community, and commerce.

What You’ll Do:
  • Architect a compelling content strategy that supports our business, engaging key partners and setting Mozilla apart from “Big Tech.”
  • Develop and implement multi-platform content strategy (blogs, op-eds, LinkedIn, Instagram, BlueSky, YouTube, and beyond) that builds our audience and reinforces Mozilla’s vision alongside our editorial and PR teams.
  • Identify and collaborate with industry influencers and visionary leaders to amplify our message and expand our reach.
  • Shape the advertising narrative through insightful storytelling, highlighting the benefits of our privacy-first ad products.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into engaging, digestible content for advertising professionals and broader consumer audiences.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and leadership to align content with business goals and key initiatives.
  • Drive content performance analysis — understanding what works, iterating, and optimizing based on insights.
What You Offer:
  • 8+ years of content strategy, with a strong grasp of B2B strategies and an understanding of the technology, media and advertising landscapes.
  • Deep expertise in digital platforms — you know what content resonates where and how to craft high-engagement narratives.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing impactful content strategies, compelling storytelling, and measurable engagement growth.
  • Experience working with technical teams to distill nuanced topics into accessible and persuasive content.
  • A strategic approach with the ability to identify trends, anticipate audience needs, and craft timely, relevant content.
  • Outstanding writing and editorial skills — you thrive in crafting clear, engaging, and thought-provoking narratives.
  • Ability to collaborate with executives and industry leaders, influencing conversations at the highest levels.
  • Passion for Mozilla’s mission and a desire to help shape ethical, effective advertising.
 What you’ll get:
  • Generous performance-based bonus plans to all regular employees - we share in our success as one team
  • Rich medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous retirement contributions with 100% immediate vesting (regardless of whether you contribute)
  • Quarterly all-company wellness days where everyone takes a pause together
  • Country specific holidays plus a day off for your birthday
  • One-time home office stipend
  • Annual professional development budget
  • Quarterly well-being stipend
  • Considerable paid parental leave
  • Employee referral bonus program
  • Other benefits (life/AD&D, disability, EAP, etc.varies by country)
