Social Media Engagement Strategist

Givelify is a fintech-for-good company where brilliant minds come to power the most loved and trusted online and mobile giving app platform. Thanks to nearly 2 million generous donors, we’ve helped more than 75,000 nonprofits and places of worship raise over $6 billion. Together, they’re changing their world with kindness and generosity.

Inc. 5000, the Stevies® Awards, Gartner, Forbes, and many more have recognized our story, innovations, and achievements. Our award-winning team builds products and experiences that put more good into the world. We love to take on big challenges because we know our work matters.

Make an impact at one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. Be part of a talented team of big-hearted individuals, earning competitive pay with excellent benefits.

About your role:

We are looking for a Social Media Engagement Strategist to support the Social Media Manager in executing Givelify’s social media strategy. You’ll build relationships with organizations and donors by actively engaging with them through comments, replies, and direct messages. You’ll lead social listening, help build spaces for community connection, and support content ideation, scheduling, and distribution to keep our social presence active and engaging. This role may require occasional travel for conferences, content capture, or team collaboration.

Your team:

The Social Media team at Givelify is collaborative and results-driven, working closely with the content, marketing, and creative teams to develop and execute social media strategies that drive impact. You will report to the Social Media Manager.

The Social Media Engagement Strategist will get to:

  • Strategically engage organizations and donors by leaving a high volume of thoughtful, relevant comments on their social media posts to build relationships, increase engagement, and drive audience growth.
  • Monitor social media platforms for mentions, relevant conversations, and emerging trends, ensuring responses or escalations happen within 2–3 hours to maintain timely, effective community interaction
  • Create and schedule content across platforms using Sprout Social and native tools, ensuring consistent posting, message alignment, and content designed to drive shares and engagement

To be successful in this role, you’ll also:

  • Support monthly and quarterly engagement themes tied to campaign goals and donor behaviors. Plan cross-platform activations that align with Givelify’s strategic moments.
  • Own opportunities to delight organizations and donors through original, engagement-boosting comments (you know how to use AI prompts to generate comments for efficiency, but you genuinely enjoy interacting with our audiences through social comments).
  • Apply brand voice and emotional intelligence to create compelling content and comment narratives that spark connection, mirror donor sentiment, and align with campaign themes.
  • Monitor and share digital and industry trends and best practices. Summarize key themes and shifts in sentiment to inform future content direction and engagement strategies.
  • Report on effectiveness, key performance indicators and value delivered per campaign/projects. Surface actionable insights to refine content strategy and drive stronger outcomes.
  • Use judgment to manage tone and tension in high-visibility moments, including responding to negative feedback or public conflict with clarity, empathy, and adherence to our moderation playbook.
  • Build and manage community spaces, like Facebook Groups, where our target audience can connect. This includes sharing helpful content, starting conversations, and creating a space where donors and organizations engage with us and with one another.

Your experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media management, community management, or content creation
  • A portfolio highlighting some of your best work (please include password)
  • Proficiency with Sprout Social, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft engaging and authentic social media comments
  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools
  • Experience in project management software like Asana, Notion, Airtable, etc
  • Experience in sales (preferred)

Your superpowers:

  • Extreme Ownership Mindset: You approach social media with scientific curiosity, bold innovation, and the gritty initiative of a founder. You take extreme ownership to make every comment resonate. You know what it takes to make your audience stop scrolling and engage deeper, and you have results to prove it
  • Skilled Connector: You intuitively read the room, adapting your voice and message to meet people where they are. You understand how to communicate across cultures and beliefs with emotional intelligence, curiosity, and empathy.
  • Master of Memorable Interactions: You transform routine social media interactions into moments that inspire, connect, and wow. Quick on your feet and endlessly creative, you avoid lazy, surface-level responses like simple emojis. Instead, you craft authentic, thoughtful, and engaging replies that leave a lasting impression on our audiences, building relationships one interaction at a time
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: You’re well-organized and accurate. You always double check posts for typos. You track your time and projects to always stay on deadline. Whether it’s content, workflows, or communication, nothing slips through the cracks on your watch
  • Test-and-Learn Trailblazer: social media is your playground, and every interaction is an experiment. You’re constantly testing new approaches, measuring outcomes, and iterating for improvement

Our culture:

We are a virtual team of award-winning and high-performing professionals who innovate and collaborate to fulfill our mission to instantly connect people to causes that matter most to them so they can change their world with kindness and generosity. Our four keys to success - integrity, heart, simplicity, and wow - fuel our passion to be recognized among the tech industry’s most inclusive and purpose-driven workplaces.

We are steadfast in our conviction to overcome challenges while performing meaningful work alongside some of the most brilliant minds and biggest hearts. It propels our growth as individuals and as a team. We are committed to respecting each other in our workplace, firmly believing diversity is our strength.

At the heart of everything we do are our giving community, our donors and our partner organizations. We lean on research and human-centered design to consistently push the envelope and innovate our products and customer experiences.

We take great pride in providing competitive pay, full benefits to help care for you today and in the future, amazing perks (including flexible PTO), and, most importantly, the opportunity to put passion and purpose front and center.
