The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Benefits Consultant to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Cranston, RI. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a hybrid position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute customized benefits strategies that align with client goals and objectives
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong, long-term relationships
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client benefit programs and address challenges
- Ensure client satisfaction through consistent delivery of high-quality service and strategic guidance
- Regularly review client accounts to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with clients to navigate industry changes and compliance requirements
- Work closely with Account Managers and other team members to provide seamless service delivery
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment that prioritizes client needs
- Lead internal meetings and initiatives to align team efforts with client goals
- Ensure accurate and timely updating of agency client management systems to maintain seamless operations
- Develop communication deliverables, including materials for client updates and employee education sessions
- Host education meetings for client employees both in person and virtually, delivering clear and engaging presentations
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of all types of medical funding mechanisms, including fully insured, self-insured, level-funded plans
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices in employee benefits
- Advise clients on compliance matters and ensure benefit plans adhere to applicable laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of all types of consumer-driven products like FSAs, HSAs, and HRAs
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in employee benefits consulting or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Proven ability to retain and grow a book of business in a client-focused environment.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proactive approach to addressing client needs and anticipating challenges
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in relevant benefits platforms (Benefit Point, ImageRight and AMS) and tools is a plus
