The Small Business Agency Education Consultant will support our sales organization by providing training to our agency partners.  Training will include Hartford appetite, product offering, and tools, such as ICON.

In this role you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive and effective consultative educational services to commercial lines insurance agents to ensure achievement of desired business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of the curriculum development, design and delivery of key learning initiatives for the small commercial segment including product and automation

  • Leadership of the learning agenda for an assigned sales territory to develop and execute agency education strategy; collaborating with Segment Managers to determine territory/agent priorities, appropriately balance percentage of time spent on external (high priority) education needs.

  • Execute all on boarding related responsibilities as defined in new appointment process for quick and thorough agency on boarding relating to the implementation and adoption of Hartford products and technology. ​

  • Host meetings with division and regional sales executives to identify learning opportunities based on company and territory objectives. Meetings should be quarterly, at minimum.

  • Meet with Small Commercial Sales Reps to identify learning needs in their territory and schedule cadence for delivery.

  • Participate in planning meetings/webinars/conferences to support sales initiatives.

  • Measure effectiveness of learning and adjust as needed to meet the needs of the business unit.

  • Own the design and development of the learning agenda for assigned stakeholders aligning learning programs to regional office growth needs

  • Develop custom curriculum and project manage new training launches

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial lines insurance preferred, or 5 years of design, development and facilitation experience in a corporate setting is required.

  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to lead data driven conversations to achieve desired results

  • Strong critical thinking skills to analyze data and customer needs to offer solutions

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Can work independently to make recommendations to the business on learning strategy

  • Automation aptitude particularly from the perspective of an end-user 

  • Expert in desktop applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)- this position does require training curriculum build, therefore, strong PowerPoint skills are required

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Collaboration tools (WebEx, Survey Monkey and Teams/Sharepoint)

  • Comprehensive business acumen and understanding of insurance products and the insurance product sales process

  • Familiarity with commercial insurance workflows (agency and/or company) and processes a plus

This role will have a Remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. 

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$102,400 - $153,600
