SLED Account Director

About the Role:

Responsible for developing strategic relationships with higher education institutions to grow Boldyn’s pipeline of opportunities and ensure the successful expansion of our business in the education sector.

This is a work from home position, but you will need to be based in the Midwest region of the USA.  

What You’ll Be Doing

  • From the direction set by the Sales leadership team, accountable for researching, targeting, lead generation, and prospect management to successfully contract with higher education institutions.

  • Responsible for managing the sales and business development process from initial outreach through to negotiation and completion of long-term service agreements.

  • Conduct desktop research to identify suitable institutional targets, developing execution strategies and marketing plans to convert targets into prospects.

  • Use appropriate sales methodologies to build and maintain a robust pipeline of education sector opportunities.

  • Develop relationships with university stakeholders — including IT leadership, procurement teams, and administrative decision-makers — to align Boldyn’s solutions with institutional goals.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support solution design, proposal development, and deployment planning, ensuring seamless handoffs and stakeholder engagement.

  • Represent Boldyn at relevant industry events, conferences, and education forums to promote our offerings and gather market intelligence.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in business development within the education sector, managed services, or IT infrastructure, with a strong understanding of institutional buying cycles and state contracting processes.

  • Demonstrated success in strategic sales, including territory planning, pipeline development, bid writing, and navigating formal RFP processes.

  • Experience presenting financials and solution proposals to executive-level stakeholders, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills, with a track record of fostering long-term partnerships and driving consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Technical aptitude and familiarity with connectivity solutions such as Wi-Fi, DAS, fiber, and managed IT services.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities concurrently.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% or more as needed to support business development efforts and client engagement.

  • Revenue Growth: Consistently meets or exceeds quarterly and annual revenue targets through strategic territory development and account expansion.

  • Pipeline Health: Maintains a robust and well-qualified pipeline with clear next steps, timelines, and stakeholder engagement across all active opportunities.

  • Client Engagement: Builds trusted relationships with key decision-makers at higher education institutions, resulting in repeat business and long-term contracts.

  • Strategic Impact: Influences institutional technology strategy by positioning Boldyn as a thought partner and solution provider.

  • Operational Excellence: Collaborates effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth handoffs, accurate proposals, and timely deployments.

  • Market Presence: Represents Boldyn at industry events and forums, contributing to brand visibility and thought leadership in the education space.
