Job Description

Overview:

Citizant is seeking a motivated, people- and process-oriented intern to learn and work in our Human Resources Department. The successful candidate will participate in a practical, structured, systematic program of on-the-job training and related instruction to develop existing military technical experience. The intern will learn and perform duties under the following function areas:

Onboarding

  • Understand the full onboarding process from hiring approval to 90 days following the new hire’s start date.
  • Assist in completing the HR onboarding checklist to ensure all HR activities have been initiated and completed on time.

Employee Relations

  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; and performance management.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.

Learning and Development

  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and professional development. This includes, but is not limited to, anti-harassment and business ethics training, certifications, and tuition reimbursement.

Employee Engagement, Recognition, and Programs

  • Assist in the planning of company events.
  • Track year of service milestone awards.

Offboarding

  • Assists with processing of terminations.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must be an active-duty U.S. Military Service Member who qualifies for participation in the DoD SkillBridge program
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Citizant’s employee management systems
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Must demonstrate attention to details

Additional Information:

  • Completion of the internship does not guarantee a full-time position with Citizant. However, interns will gain valuable skills and experience to enhance their career transition.
