Location: Remote (Supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Anticipated Start Date: July 2026

Position Overview

Emerging Tech is seeking Junior and Senior ServiceNow Developers to support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Sustainment and Integration Support Services (SISS) program.

The ServiceNow Developer will support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of ServiceNow solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support critical healthcare technology initiatives. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, technical stakeholders, and program leadership to ensure successful delivery across multiple workstreams.

Preference will be given to candidates with existing VA access or prior experience supporting VA programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow applications and integrations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, client stakeholders, and partner organizations to support program objectives
• Participate in technical design sessions and contribute to solution architecture and implementation
• Identify project risks, track issues, and assist with mitigation strategies
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and implementation artifacts
• Coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure project alignment
• Support system enhancements, troubleshooting, testing, and deployment activities
• Maintain continuity of operations across multiple program workstreams
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate within a fast-paced development environment

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience developing, configuring, or administering ServiceNow applications
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary technical teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or previous support of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs
• Existing VA network access or active VA Public Trust clearance
• Experience supporting federal government or federal healthcare IT programs
• Knowledge of Oracle Health (Cerner), electronic health records (EHR), or healthcare system integrations
• Experience supporting system integration, operations, cybersecurity, testing, or data management initiatives
• Experience working within Agile development environments
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), or other relevant ServiceNow certifications

Junior ServiceNow Developer Qualifications

• Two or more years of ServiceNow development or administration experience
• Experience configuring workflows, forms, business rules, and integrations within the ServiceNow platform
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, REST APIs, or related technologies preferred

Senior ServiceNow Developer Qualifications

• Five or more years of ServiceNow development experience
• Extensive experience designing, developing, and implementing complex ServiceNow solutions
• Experience leading technical efforts, mentoring junior developers, and supporting enterprise-level implementations
• Advanced knowledge of ServiceNow modules, integrations, scripting, and platform customization

Work Environment

This position supports the Department of Veterans Affairs Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program in a remote work environment. Candidates must be able to effectively collaborate with geographically dispersed teams, government stakeholders, and partner organizations while supporting mission-critical healthcare technology initiatives.
