BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Aerospace Engineer for an exciting opportunity developing new capabilities for the Sentinel ICBM weapon system at Hill Air Force Base (AFB), Utah. This position will provide Modeling/Simulation & Engineering support to a large DoD acquisition program.
This new ICBM program will design, develop, produce, and deploy new payload system suites (reentry vehicles and/or countermeasures). The key payload attributes include enhancements in accuracy, lethality, and ICBM Reentry System/Reentry Vehicle (RS/RV) interoperable operations. Program activities will also include the employment of digital acquisitions through the application of digital engineering, agile software development, and open systems architectures.

Responsibilities include
- Provide technical advice to Government leaders and engineers.
- Support requirements development, analysis of alternatives, verification and validation activities, and milestone preparation.
- Prepare/review engineering analysis reports and key acquisition documents, including RFP packages.
- Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program management reviews, certification working groups, and other technical meetings, as required.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering with 12+ years of Aerospace Engineering experience or master's degree in engineering or related technical discipline with 10+ years of Aerospace Engineering experience.
- 6+ years of progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.
- Familiarity with Cameo and other project languages.
- System level experience with defining projects and implementing integration actions.
- Experience with optimization of validation and verification activities that verify model inputs/outputs.
- Understanding relationship with Modeling, Simulation and Analysis.
- Current Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Understanding and have experience working with the Minuteman III and/or Sentinel programs.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn the DOD acquisitions process as well as other relevant directives, policies, or instructions.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn the DOE 6X acquisition process as well as other relevant directives, policies, or instructions.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Stockpile to Target Sequence (STS) systems engineering, engage with and brief DOE and LPO senior leadership.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both writing and orally.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
