HubSpot is looking for a Senior Workday Business Systems Analyst with deep compensation expertise to join our People Systems team. In this high-impact individual contributor role, you will own the Workday Compensation module end-to-end — from configuration and testing to running complex, company-wide compensation cycles for our global workforce. While Compensation is your primary domain, you will also flex across HCM, Payroll, and Benefits to support evolving project demands, backlog priorities, and team capacity needs throughout the year. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast without sacrificing quality, and bring a point of view when things could be done better.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full lifecycle of annual and off-cycle compensation cycles in Workday, from planning and configuration through execution, auditing, and close.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for Workday Compensation, including salary plans, grade profiles, merit and bonus plans, and advanced compensation features.
  • Partner closely with Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Finance, and Payroll to translate compensation strategy into scalable Workday configuration.
  • Lead requirements gathering, design, build, test, and deployment of compensation-related enhancements, releases, and new functionality.
  • Build and maintain robust test plans and regression suites; ensure data integrity across all compensation processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve compensation system issues, acting as an escalation point for the broader People Systems and HR Operations teams.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve compensation workflows and reporting.
  • Produce clear documentation — process flows, configuration guides, and training materials — for HR and business stakeholders.
  • Stay current on Workday roadmap updates and evaluate new features for the compensation domain.
  • Partner across Workday modules — including HCM, Payroll, and Benefits — to support broader People Systems project demands, backlog priorities, and team capacity needs during lower-volume periods in the compensation calendar.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience, with at least 3+ years focused specifically on Workday Compensation configuration and administration.
  • Proven track record leading end-to-end compensation cycles (merit, bonus, equity) at a large, fast-paced company — you've done this before and can do it again with minimal guidance.
  • Deep expertise in Workday Compensation concepts: salary plans, grade profiles, compensation eligibility rules, compensation review cycles, and worksheets.
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles and HR data — you speak both 'comp' and 'systems' fluently.
  • Experience translating ambiguous business requirements into clear, scalable technical configurations.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills; comfortable diving into EIBs, calculated fields, and Workday reporting.
  • Strong communication skills — able to present complex system concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a high-growth, fast-changing environment.
  • Working knowledge of adjacent Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, or Benefits) and a willingness to actively contribute across module areas as project and team needs evolve.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Workday Advanced Compensation (long-term incentive plans, stock plan administration).
  • Experience supporting global compensation programs across multiple countries and currencies.
