About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to help define the creative voice of a bold new automotive brand. We’re looking for a Senior Visual Designer to lead concept development and hands-on execution across brand design, motion, and storytelling. This hybrid role is ideal for a craft-driven art director with deep motion design experience and a strong visual design foundation. You’ll bring campaigns, digital content, and brand experiences to life—from concept to final delivery—through motion, video, and visual systems that scale across channels. You’ll collaborate closely with marketing, digital product, vehicle design, and environmental teams to shape a unified brand across every touchpoint. You should thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, with the confidence to own your creative lane while contributing across a multidisciplinary team.

What you’ll do

Help build an iconic American brand from the ground up:

  • Lead creative direction and hands-on design for all types of brand experiences, campaigns, and content
  • Design and animate across formats—web, events, film, presentations, social, and product
  • Build scalable motion systems and toolkits that drive brand storytelling
  • Edit and assemble video content
  • Collaborate across design, product, marketing, environmental, and agency partners to deliver cohesive creative
  • Translate brand and marketing strategy into expressive, high-quality visual outputs

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver best-in-class motion and design assets with a high level of craft and consistency
  • Evolve the brand identity through motion, composition, typography, layout, and systems
  • Maintain and expand toolkits—templates, guides, animation specs, and design systems
  • Partner with internal teams and agencies to produce on-brand creative
  • Manage multiple projects independently with speed, clarity, and attention to detail

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be remote within the United States. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
What you’ll bring 

You have a passion for creating bold, expressive brand work grounded in strategy and executed with craft. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are collaborative by nature. Here's what else you'll bring: 

  • A strong portfolio showcasing high-impact motion design, video editing, and visual brand design across a variety of formats
  • 8+ years of professional experience in graphic or visual design
  • 5 + years of experience in motion design 
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and common motion design workflows
  • Experience creating visuals for web, product, social, events, and campaigns
  • Proficiency in video editing, animation, transitions, and assembling narrative content
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and workflows in the motion or video space
  • Strong communicator who can present ideas clearly and take feedback constructively
  • Experience working across disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing brand-aligned motion systems or toolkits
  • Background in startup, in-house, and/or integrated agency environments
  • Experience with 3D CAD and interaction/UX design
  • Comfort with fast iteration, evolving priorities, and collaborative feedback loops

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $130,000.00 - $160,000.00

Initial California base salary range = $143,000.00 - $176,000.00
