POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief Impact & Operating Officer

APPLICATION DEADLINE: November 3, 2025

LOCATION: Remote, flexible

WHAT YOU’LL DO

By 2030, Teach For America will double the number of children reaching key educational milestones in the communities where we work—milestones that put them on a path to economic mobility and a future filled with possibility. Achieving this goal requires us to excel at our core mission of recruiting, developing, and placing exceptional leaders in classrooms, while continuously innovating to meet evolving community needs. As our next SVP, Revenue & Development, you'll fuel this ambitious vision by building and executing a diversified revenue strategy that generates the resources needed to achieve our 2030 goal - strengthening partnerships, expanding our reach, and accelerating our impact.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

As the overall leader of our revenue and development work, you will:

  • Drive revenue growth and diversification — Develop and execute innovative strategies across all revenue streams (individual, corporate, foundation, and public funding) that leverage philanthropic trends, cutting-edge fundraising practices, and a high-performing team to fuel sustainable growth and strengthen financial resilience.

  • Build and lead a high-performing team — Inspire, develop, and manage 100+ fundraisers nationwide to deliver exceptional results, deepen donor relationships, and create a culture of excellence and innovation.

  • Cultivate and steward philanthropic partnerships — Represent TFA's work internally and externally to strengthen relationships with major donors, foundation leaders, and corporate partners; equip and collaborate with the CEO and regional Executive Directors to secure transformational investments.

  • Optimize revenue operations and infrastructure — Oversee the systems, processes, data infrastructure, and incentive structures needed to scale revenue, drive accountability across the team, and ensure sustainable growth.

  • Serve as a strategic partner and organizational leader — Shape organization-wide strategy, budget, and key decisions; build trusted cross-functional relationships; model TFA's values and commitment to equity and belonging; navigate ambiguity with emotional intelligence and sound judgment; ensure responsible resource management and compliance.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 15+ years of professional experience in revenue leadership, including significant experience with major gifts, institutional fundraising, and donor relations.

  • At least 5 years leading enterprise-wide strategy and revenue operations; nonprofit fundraising experience required.

  • Demonstrated success managing revenue growth and building sustainable funding models in complex organizations.

  • Proven track record managing and developing large, geographically distributed teams (50+ people), including managing managers.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Related Masters (MBA, Non Profit Management/Leadership) preferred.

Work Demands

  • Ability to travel to in-person engagements and gathering ~1x month.

  • Some evening and weekend work required driven largely by board members and funder availability.

Skills

  • Revenue strategy and execution — Proven expertise in major gifts, institutional fundraising, pipeline management, and donor cultivation strategies that drive sustainable growth.

  • Analytics and performance management — Strong analytical skills to forecast revenue, track key metrics, identify opportunities, and use data to optimize fundraising effectiveness.

  • Operational excellence — Ability to build and scale revenue operations by translating strategy into execution through effective systems, processes, and performance management.

  • People leadership and talent development — Strong ability to recruit, develop, and inspire high-performing teams while fostering cultures of excellence and belonging.

  • Compelling communication — Exceptional writer and storyteller who uses data, narratives, and examples to make complex ideas clear and persuasive across audiences.

  • Relationship building and influence — Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build trusted partnerships, navigate organizational dynamics, and inspire action.

YOUR FUTURE TEAM

The Revenue and Development team at Teach For America inspires donors and champions to contribute to shaping the future of our country by investing in Teach For America’s work with students nationally and regionally. We aim to source investments that fuel our work and impact while driving sustainable revenue growth over the next 3-5 years. This role will lead a team of over 100 field fundraisers across the country to inspire donors to invest in TFA to achieve near-term revenue targets while building a sustainable long-term growth strategy.
