Base Salary: $170,000–$250,000* + Variable Compensation + Equity
*Actual base salary is dependent on experience and geographic location.

The Senior Vice President Distribution is a key position which provides leadership to the organization and develops strategy, operational plans and processes that drive revenue growth to accomplish core financial objectives. This role is responsible for overseeing goal-setting processes for all levels of distribution and uses data and technology to measure key performance indicators, renewal processes, identify issues, and enhance performance.  

Experience Needed

  • 15+ years of Commercial Lines sales and Marketing experience
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance industry, specifically knows E&O, Cyber, BOP, GL, WC and other specialty lines insurance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, MBA preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Reputation for being a strong mentor, developer and attractor of talent. Followership; Strong cross-functional team skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with management and agency partners
  • Ability to think strategically and come up with proactive ideas to increase sales
  • Creates a culture of accountability to ensure delivering world-class products and services
  • Entrepreneurial-minded, motivated, and self-starter who digs in with urgency, exercises discretion and independent/sound judgment, while excelling in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, results oriented environment

  • Ability to perform at a high level in a remote work environment

Job Duties

  • Manage and maximize revenue, profitability, growth and retention of Embroker’s insurance product distribution 
  • Accountable for setting sales quotas and meeting or exceeding sales revenue on a quarterly basis
  • Personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-values sales
  • Identify, negotiate, launch and scale net new channel relationships including embedded APIs and vertically specific co-selling opportunities 
  • Create capabilities to effectively analyze the business environment, identify and understand competitors. 
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the prospecting and appointment of agents to build a strong distribution channel
  • Provide leadership to independent agency partners through coaching, feedback, development goals, and performance management
  • Interface with management to develop or enhance the marketing of the company’s suite of products 
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding the company’s suite of products 
  • Work with other departments to further the relationship assess new, digital placement and related business opportunities
  • Stay up to date with new developments in the insurance market through membership organizations, conventions, and insurance agency partnerships
  • Create an open and transparent teamwork environment in which diverse experience, skill-sets and individuals can team together to drive optimal outcomes
  • Represent the Distribution team in meetings and speak to performance, program results and current initiatives
  • Assist with internal marketing efforts designed to increase sales and track marketing and sales interactions
  • Create a culture of accountability to ensure delivering world-class products and services
  • Perform other duties as assigned
