Core Responsibilities

  • Provides client experience research for product teams for digital applications across multiple platforms, for mid- to large-scale scope projects. Recommends appropriate quantitative or qualitative approach to gather necessary insights from clients or prospects.

  • Plans, designs, and conducts user research, usability, and heuristic evaluations studies. Reviews research on human factors response to bring value to Vanguard's business, technology, and processes.

  • Conducts user interviews and contextual inquiries to identify user needs and gather user feedback. Ensures privacy and conducts sessions in a professional manner.

  • Analyzes, summarizes, and presents results to interdisciplinary design teams and mid-to-senior level decision makers. Develops buy-in from the business.

  • Mentors team members in usability techniques, processes, and methods. Trains teams in usability fundamentals. Leads informal usability education seminars and one-on-one sessions. Writes training curriculum and creates presentation materials.

  • Identifies quantitative and qualitative usability opportunities and presents findings and recommendations to project teams. Presents usability findings to senior leaders and negotiates adoption of critical usability recommendations.

  • Documents usability principles, best practices, and usability test results. Reviews user interface design standards documentation and provides usability feedback. Recommends improvements in usability to the business and senior leaders.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Five years related work experience, three years of User Experience Research.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in a creative or technical field. Graduate degree preferred.

  • We are seeking a candidate who brings a well-rounded blend of experience, including strong consulting capabilities, a demonstrated openness to change, and the ability to lead with a growth mindset and an innovative spirit.
