As a Senior UX Designer at Roadie, you will play a crucial role in leading the design, development, and implementation of user experience strategies for the Roadie Driver app. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to create research-driven mobile experiences that meet user needs and align with business objectives. This position offers a high degree of autonomy, enabling you to strike a balance between strategic guidance and self-directed decision-making. Your contributions will be vital in promoting UX excellence throughout the organization and empowering drivers to have control over when and where they work.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and data science, to collect requirements and convert them into detailed design specifications and documentation
  • Conduct both quantitative and qualitative research, using insights to guide design decisions, inform product strategy, and measure the impact of UX enhancements
  • Create compelling narratives that highlight user challenges and opportunities for product development, utilizing real data, industry insights, and user feedback
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, and interaction flows to effectively communicate design concepts
  • Ensure all designs comply with WCAG accessibility standards to ensure usability for individuals with diverse abilities
  • Present design concepts and their rationale to stakeholders, advocating for the importance of user-centered design
  • Provide feedback, mentorship, and guidance to fellow UX designers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and evolution of Roadie's Baseline design system
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the UX team’s processes, frameworks, and culture, ensuring alignment with established protocols
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve the product and design practices

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in user experience/product design across various platforms, including web, iOS, and Android
  • A strong curiosity and passion for problem-solving
  • The ability to self-manage and lead projects with minimal oversight, ensuring adherence to proper design and research processes
  • A unique ability to solve open-ended problems with simple and engaging solutions
  • Mastery of the end-to-end UX process - from identifying customer needs and pain points to delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Strong visual design competency and product thinking for mobile-centric experiences
  • Proficiency in Figma, with the ability to create complex components and prototypes
  • A systems thinking approach, with the capability to connect insights across the entire Roadie ecosystem
  • Highly developed communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to rapidly ideate and articulate design concepts
  • The ability to clearly present design concepts to stakeholders and to incorporate feedback to refine the user experience
  • A portfolio that demonstrates excellent visual craft and systematic thinking
