The selected individual will primarily be responsible for handling automobile and premises liability and other complex bodily injury litigation against FCCI insureds, to include pre-trial, mediation, trial, and post-trial resolution. FCCI’s Senior Trial Attorney will independently prepare and manage pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions and any other tasks or duties necessary for the proper representation of FCCI insureds in accordance with sound litigation practices. As part of those duties, the Senior Trial Attorney will drive results to recognize, promote, and identify settlement opportunities, including all aspects of liability and damages. The successful candidate must be team-oriented and collaborative. Overall, the Senior Trial Attorney will engage in all aspects of FCCI’s Staff Counsel policies and procedures, including coordinating case handling in partnership with FCCI’s Claims Department. Significant experience in bodily injury litigation and jury trial experience are required. Some experience in the area of construction defect litigation would be helpful in order to occasionally assist attorneys whose primary responsibility is for cases involving construction.

Position is a home based, remote position. Travel will be required for non-remote legal proceedings and occasional travel will be required to FCCI’s Sarasota home office.

The salary range for this position is $128,396-$197,729 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications Experience Required * Minimum of six years of recent experience as a successful, practicing attorney in automobile and premises liability and other complex bodily injury litigation. * Juris Doctorate and admission to the Florida bar. * Jury trial experience. * Advanced commercial insurance defense litigation experience. * Experience defending matters involving multiple parties. * Advanced knowledge of Florida Rules of Evidence and Rules of Civil Procedure. * Ability to provide effective legal counsel. * Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills. * Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making. * Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge of current trends in the Florida litigation landscape and ability to adapt to same. * Ability to work with a team in a collaborative work environment.
