Position summary

Upon the re-award of the contract, Sikich is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer with experience building and enhancing test automation frameworks to join an Agile development team delivering IT solutions. In this role, you will be the team’s sole QA automation resource and will work closely with developers, business analysts, and other DevOps team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. You will independently design, develop, script, execute, debug, and maintain the Playwright test automation framework. Because AI tools may not be used to generate, modify, or integrate code within the codebase, you must be capable of performing all automation engineering responsibilities without AI assistance.

What will you do in this role?

  • Conduct an initial assessment of existing test processes, plans, and procedures then identify those elements which can be transitioned from manual to automated
  • Design automation components/modules that can be leveraged across multiple test scripts using a standard automation framework embedded within Agile / DevOps processes and performed on all stages (e.g. Development, Staging, UAT, and Production)
  • Review user stories and create test cases, test scripts and test suites before execution
  • Collaborate with developers and business analysts to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
  • Analyze and identify suitable opportunities for test automation
  • Develop automation components/modules using appropriate tools and programming languages
  • Develop automation components/modules using parameterized data from an external source such as a spreadsheet
  • Leverage best practices and available automation frameworks to reduce automation maintenance
  • Execute test automation script/cases, identify/log issues, and provide support during issue resolution process
  • Support test automation solution planning and estimation
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and related requirements
  • In conjunction with test automation, apply regression, smoke, data integrity, security, and Section 508 testing

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Candidates must be either U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders and capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • Min 3 years of experience with Playwright for UI/E2E test automation
  • Min 3 years of experience with TypeScript and/or JavaScript
  • Experience with Agile DevOps methods, including Microsoft DevOps tools
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks with design patterns:
    • Page Object Modal
    • Reusable fixtures and utilities
  • Experience with stress, reliability, security and performance testing tools
  • Experience with Cross Browser Testing (Chromium, Firefox, Webkit)
  • Experience with test integration into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM).
    • Asynchronous programming (Promises, async/await)
  • Strong debugging skills, ability to handle flaky tests and timing issues
  • Strong understanding of test isolation, data management and environment configuration
  • Familiarity with version control workflows (Git)
  • Must be a self-starter/self-directed member of the team
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Attentive to detail with excellent time-management skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving ability

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $120,000- $132,000- $144,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
