Senior Technical Writer
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join the Product Content team. This team is a mighty group of Technical Writers and UX Writers who strive to deliver accurate, concise, and well-written technical documentation, online help, and in-app messaging that help our users to perform their tasks. You’ll thrive here if you’re curious, open-minded, flexible, passionate about user experience, love to take ownership, and deeply value collaboration.
Our ideal candidate has experience working with agile software development teams in the technical enterprise software (cloud & AI) space, is passionate about writing for developers and other technical audiences, and has experience documenting complex software products and APIs. We want someone who shares a knack for simplifying complexity so that information is presented to users in clear, consumable, and actionable ways
Essential requirements
5+ years of proven experience writing technical documentation for complex software products in an agile environment
Contributed to multiple shipped products and documented developer & user guides, APIs, reference docs, and release notes for technologies such as AI, cloud, iPaas, SaaS, etc
Experience working with multiple fast-paced software agile Engineering teams, using Jira boards, tracking issues, reviewing epics and code samples, understanding technical tasks, and explaining them in plain language
Outstanding verbal and written skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to research technical concepts, analyze specifications, and communicate them clearly and precisely
Ability to multitask, adapt, prioritize, and collaborate respectfully with Engineering, Product Management, UX, Customer Success,& other cross-functional groups to improve user experience and write content
You know how to work with the following:
Docs-as-code/CI-CD approach for documentation
Markdown
Bitbucket or Github
Basic knowledge of HTML, Python, or JavaScript to work with code snippets and scripts
What you'll do at Boomi
Work closely with fast-paced agile software engineering teams, technical writers, designers, and product managers to understand complex technical concepts, gather information and translate them into engaging, user-friendly technical documentation, developer and user guides, API references, release notes, tutorials, and other learning resources
Collaborate cross-functionally and with other writers to collect and address customer feedback in a timely manner
Work on strategic initiatives, content migration, and improvement projects
Contribute to tools, workflows, and processes that make documentation more efficient, collaborative, and scalable
Adapt to a fast-paced, multi-team agile environment with a willingness to manage competing priorities and use agile methods to keep in sync with team priorities and roadmap.
