Senior Technical Specialist/Technician 4
Job Summary: As a Senior Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the customer-based advanced technologies and associated material handling equipment. You will manage and coordinate all activities as well as service the system which may include Commissioning, Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI), Routine Maintenance, Planned Specialized Maintenance (PSM), diagnostics, trouble shooting and repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide reporting to include faults, clean-up activities and statistics.
- Repairs and maintains the equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manual, and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Navigate spare parts inventory & replenishments. Report on consumption.
- Understand any applicable warranty terms & processes.
- Troubleshoot systems malfunctions and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences and system downtime.
- Leads maintenance tasks such as repairs, system monitoring, equipment trial runs, investigative tests, and overhauls or system improvements.
- Guide training of the customer to maintain and adjust the system.
- Develop and submit reports covering all job activities.
- Support and coordinate external maintenance and repair work as needed.
- Be able to navigate associated software programs, such as, analytics and warehouse execution systems.
Requirements:
- Experience with plant instrumentation/electrical/controls troubleshooting and repair (5+ years’ experience) and commitment to complete all associated online, in-person, remote and onsite trainings.
- Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills; ability to read/interpret electrical control drawings and logically diagnose electrical and/or mechanical problems.
- Strong electrical mechanical background and ability to troubleshoot problems. Ability to perform maintenance functions and make repairs in a professional manner.
Preferred requirements:
- OSHA 10 credentials preferred.
- Electromechanical skills, troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, HMI’s, servos, and other discrete electrical control components.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, diagnose problems using complex technical terms and concepts, in a logical manner.
- Excellent customer service / interpersonal skills and possess a logical problem-solving mindset.
- Must be a self-starter, detailed oriented and results focused.
- Understanding of industrial computer hardware and commonly used software applications (i.e.MS Office) and operating systems.
Travel – Travel will be infrequent and limited travel outside of your site/region for the purposes of support/training.
