About the Role

Archive is hiring a Senior Technical Recruiter to help us scale how we hire while preserving what makes our culture special. This will be our first dedicated technical recruiter, reporting to our Head of People, and serving as a critical partner to Engineering, Product, and Technical Implementation leadership.

This role sits at the intersection of technical recruiting excellence, operational rigor, and human-centered hiring. You’ll own technical hiring end-to-end while also building the systems, playbooks, and interviewer training that allow us to scale with consistency and care.

You’ll recruit for teams building across a modern stack (TypeScript/React/Next.js, Node/Python, GraphQL, Postgres, AWS/Terraform) and should feel comfortable partnering closely with technical leaders on role design, calibration, and hiring strategy.

If you’re someone who loves being in the doing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and builds trusted relationships with ease, you’ll love this role. You’ll be both a high-output recruiter and a builder of foundations that last.

What you’ll do
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (primarily engineers, plus other technical roles as needed), with the ability to flex into non-technical hiring when priorities shift

  • Partner closely with hiring managers and leadership to deeply understand team needs and define thoughtful hiring strategies

  • Build and maintain high-quality pipelines through outbound sourcing, referrals, networking, and creative channel development

  • Drive a high-signal process end-to-end: calibration, interview design, evaluation quality, candidate communication, closing, and offers

  • Build scalable, structured recruiting practices that are equitable and efficient as we grow

  • Create and maintain technical interview playbooks and interviewer enablement materials (rubrics, scorecards, training sessions, guides) to support consistency as volume increases

  • Design and advocate for a deeply human, candidate-centric interview experience with clear expectations and fast feedback loops

  • Strengthen Archive’s employer story for technical talent and represent the company with credibility in the market

  • Own our recruiting tech stack (Ashby + tooling ecosystem), including workflows, automation, reporting, and continuous optimization

  • Leverage automation and AI-enabled recruiting workflows to improve speed and quality (sourcing, outreach, scheduling, synthesis, reporting), while ensuring the candidate experience staysigh-touch and deeply human

  • Lead hiring for roles across the technical org, from ICs through Director-level leadership, partnering closely with executives on strategy, assessment design, and closing

  • Manage external agencies when needed and scale partners up/down based on hiring volume and priority, with a bias toward building strong in-house capability

What we’re looking for
  • 5+ years of in-house recruiting experience, with a strong focus on technical hiring across software and data roles

  • Proven success recruiting in startup or high-growth environments

  • Demonstrated experience hiring across levels, including senior ICs (Senior/Staff+) and technical leadership roles up to the Director level.

  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships quickly and influence without authority

  • Highly execution-oriented: you move fast, stay organized, and love operating in the flow of active searches

  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and improving recruiting processes

  • Confidence coaching hiring managers with empathy, clarity, and a high bar

  • Technical fluency and comfort engaging with engineers and technical leaders

  • Systems-minded and data-informed, while staying deeply people-first

  • Experience with Ashby (or similar ATS) and demonstrated experience using AI-enabled recruiting workflows to improve efficiency and signal (e.g., sourcing support, outreach iteration, structured intake/calibration, interviewer enablement, pipeline insights)

  • Strong judgment, communication, and candidate advocacy instincts
