Job Summary

This opportunity is ideal for a highly proactive Technical Project Manager with a strong background in digital product delivery, website launches, and cross-functional team leadership. The role focuses on driving a large-scale website relaunch, overseeing complex content migrations, and ensuring timely execution of technical initiatives. The successful candidate will bridge business and engineering teams, establish project structure, manage Agile delivery processes, and proactively mitigate risks. Strong expertise in CMS platforms, Jira, Agile methodologies, and software development lifecycle practices is essential for success.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the successful delivery and launch of a large-scale, high-traffic digital media website.

  • Act as the operational owner of the project, proactively identifying risks, removing blockers, and driving execution.

  • Establish and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and delivery frameworks.

  • Review wireframes, designs, and technical requirements to assess complexity and define implementation strategies.

  • Break down project scope into structured development tasks and actionable deliverables.

  • Anticipate technical dependencies and constraints related to content migration, data flows, advertising, and integrations.

  • Gather and clarify requirements by collaborating with stakeholders and securing alignment across teams.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between design, editorial, product, and engineering teams.

  • Ensure technical specifications, CMS integrations, APIs, analytics tools, and advertising platforms are properly implemented.

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Standups, Reviews, and Demos.

  • Own and maintain Jira backlogs, ensuring stories, tasks, bugs, and requirements are clearly documented and prioritized.

  • Coordinate development activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.

  • Track project progress and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Drive accountability across teams and maintain momentum toward critical launch deadlines.

  • Support continuous process improvement and delivery best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Job Requirements
  • Proven experience successfully leading high-traffic website launches, complex digital product deployments, or large-scale content migration projects.

  • Strong background working with digital media, publishing, news, content-rich, or aggregation platforms.

  • Understanding of publisher-specific technologies, including advertising integrations, analytics, search functionality, dynamic content modules, and data feeds.

  • Hands-on experience managing projects involving Content Management Systems such as Contentful, WordPress, Drupal, AEM, or similar enterprise platforms.

  • Strong understanding of how structured content flows from CMS platforms to frontend experiences.

  • Expert-level experience managing Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

  • Advanced proficiency with Atlassian Jira and Confluence for backlog management, sprint planning, and project tracking.

  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern software delivery practices.

  • Strong technical literacy with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, and technical stakeholders.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across product, design, content, and engineering disciplines.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining ownership and accountability for delivery outcomes.
