Pinterest Technical Program Managers are proactive owners with technical expertise. They are aligned to the highest level company priorities to support successful delivery of programs within their teams.
The Data Labeling team strives to consistently provide high quality data at scale to support Pinterest ML initiatives. We are a team of highly-skilled program managers on a mission to accelerate Pinterest growth and revenue by producing high quality training data fast, at scale to support ML initiatives and enhance pinners experience.
What you’ll do:
- Proactively identify and drive key strategic explorations relating to data labeling operations
- Translate strategic ideas into execution plans, and be accountable to drive them to completion thereby delivering high quality data labels to stakeholder teams
- Drive complex technical decisions across multiple teams
- Execute at both breadth and depth. At breadth by understanding the big picture, and at depth by being comfortable driving nitty gritty details with multiple teams
- Be a thought leader to your XFN stakeholders by influencing product roadmap during the annual & quarterly planning
- Work cross functionally with engineering, product, design, data science, finance, legal, and vendor teams to turn ambiguous opportunities into actionable outcomes
- Define new processes from ground up to streamline collaboration between stakeholders
- Influence teams and build relationships with key stakeholders across disciplines and organizations
- Build effective and transparent communication channels to adaptively communicate schedules, priorities, status and risk to various functional stakeholders at all levels of the company
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of experience as a technical program manager, or related experience in the data labeling space
- A background managing complex projects effectively by setting clear goals, designing solutions and tracking progress against deadlines
- Strong track of organizational management, forecasting, budgeting, and resource management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and strong ability to work autonomously and cross-functionally
- Experience with scaled data labeling operations across multiple use cases
- Comfortable managing and collaborating with large vendor teams
- Strong written, verbal communication skills and comfort in communicating nuanced, and often technical, concepts to internal stakeholders or external partners
- Experience presenting data as insights to stakeholders
- Experience working in a fast-moving environment, managing multiple projects within tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in creating and driving efficient processes at scale
- Action-oriented collaborator who can effectively communicate and work with people across different teams, roles, and functions
- Proficient with Excel, G Suite (Google docs, sheets and slides).
- Proficient in using LLM’s such as ChatGPT
- Comfort working in a fast-changing environment, with unexpected problems or a new relationship to forge around the corner at all times
- Entrepreneurial spirit with strong leadership, who can develop and lead a new initiative from the ground up and thrive in ambiguity
- Passion for execution, and getting things done
- Solid technical background and ability to quickly understand technical designs, challenges and risks. Experience breaking down complex problems and driving decision making
- Strong analytical abilities, able to create & monitor metrics, proactively identify growth opportunities & incidents
- Ability to influence teams & drive alignment among multiple stakeholders
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1x/quarter, and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
