NVIDIA
Senior Technical Product Manager, Advanced Planning - Autonomous Vehicles
The Autonomous Vehicles (AV) team is searching for an expert, highly motivated, Technical Product Manager to build the future of NVIDIA's self-driving software, enabling features ranging from driver assistance all the way to true hands-off, mind-off autonomous driving.
An autonomous vehicle's ability to intelligently plan how it will traverse the world is absolutely critical to an excellent self driving vehicle experience. But making a safe system that can handle the many different situations we see every day, all while feeling humanlike, is an ongoing and exciting challenge. This role will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a variety of innovative technology capabilities related to end-to-end driving AI, model-based planning, and much more. Ultimately, in this role you will be responsible for ensuring that we are building the right technology both short and long term to deliver the best self driving capabilities we can. You will take on responsibility for coordination and execution against those plans, for quality of the product, and through to delivery and deployment to customer vehicles through one of our many OEM partners.
What you'll be doing:
Work collaboratively with other technical product managers and technical leads to understand the sophisticated self-driving problems we are solving, and to break down these problems into a solution with prioritized requirements.
Interact directly with engineering teams to convert those requirements into industry-competitive roadmaps enabling our entire system to achieve end to end goals.
Define and drive appropriate metrics and quality indicators for these capabilities and have a deep, hands-on understanding of quality for the areas you are responsible for.
Coordinate and collaborate with teams and internal customers to communicate and resolve bottlenecks, address issues, and keep workstreams moving so that the roadmap is delivered.
Develop a deep technical understanding of the entire stack to proactively identify areas of improvement and investment
What we need to see:
Driven, hands on, leader with strong skills in influencing, communication, presenting, consensus and multi-functional team building across time zones
Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or related projects which involve heavily matrixed complex systems, especially in the areas of AV planners
Creative problem solver who can handle ambiguous situations, reach consensus, and make decisions
Technical ability to think creatively, propose solutions, and resolve development issues and constraints
Execution focus, with experience bringing new sophisticated and innovative products and technologies into reality
12+ years of recent Product or Program Management experience
BS/MS Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Relevant domain knowledge/experience (Autonomous Driving, Robotics, End-to-End Networks, AI based planners, AV research, or similar fields)
Experience in a fast-paced AI company or Autonomous Vehicle company
Proven technical background in a related field, such as experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, ML engineer, or similar
Showing you always strive to learn new things, are motivated to solve hard problems, and that you care about the end product
