CPI Security, in Charlotte, NC, is looking to hire a full-time Senior Systems Engineer located in office at our corporate headquarters. The Senior Systems Engineer acts as the highest technical expert within the IT Operations Team. The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining, implementing, and proactively monitoring the company’s key infrastructure; This role is critical for ensuring continuous, secure business operations across the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the engineering, configuration, and support of critical IT infrastructure including on-premise, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Manage and maintain endpoint configuration standards.
  • Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, and logging for servers, endpoints, and network devices.
  • Maintain and enhance backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies, including testing and documentation.
  • Drive patch management and system hardening for servers and workstations, while monitoring for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with security, applications, and support teams to enforce best practices and align with compliance requirements (NIST, CIS, PCI)
  • Act as a technical escalation point for critical incidents and lead root cause analysis efforts.
  • Build and maintain automation scripts or workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrade projects and roadmap planning with the IT Operations Manager.
  • Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base development

What We Are Looking For:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience Systems Engineering, and/or Infrastructure roles
  • Experience working within a Critical Infrastructure industry
  • Virtualization- (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix)
  • Cloud HyperScalers: (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Identity & Access Management (Entra, Okta)
  • Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
  • Mobile Device Management (Intune, JAMF)
  • Network fundamentals (firewalls, VLANs, SD-WAN, VPNs)
  • Scripting & Automation (Powershell, Bash)

  • $120,000 - $140,000 based on experience and qualifications
