What You'll Do
As a System Engineer on the Global Resource Management team, you'll be at the forefront of tackling our most challenging system architecture problems:
- Solve Deep, Foundational Problems: Dive into complex, cross-cutting engineering challenges that benefit all Cloudflare products by creating organized, efficient, and well-managed applications.
- Architect for Organization and Clarity: Design and make core architectural decisions focused on reducing fanout and simplifying system dependencies. The objective is to make platform adoption seamless and straightforward for product engineering teams.
- Build Scalable Systems: Be responsible for proposing architectures, writing detailed specifications, and implementing high-quality, maintainable code to build scalable and highly available systems.
- Drive Code Quality: Actively participate in thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback on technical specifications and designs, and ensure all implementations adhere to best practices for reliability and security.
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in software development, building and operating mission-critical, high-scale distributed systems.
- Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Go (Golang)
- Systems Design: Proven experience in designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available services at cloud-scale.
- Architectural Thinking: Understanding of concepts related to organization, dependency management, and resource orchestration in a large, multi-tenant environment.
- Collaboration: Experience participating in a code review process and contributing thoughtful feedback to design specifications. Comfortable working across teams to identify shared challenges and propose platform-level solutions.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare's core technologies, such as edge computing or global networking.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and related technologies.
