PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $114,300.00-$139,700.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $88,700.00 - $165,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage.  Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance.  We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees.  Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan.  Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As a Senior Systems Analyst – Credit Decisioning at BECU, you’ll directly influence how we serve our members through smarter, faster, and more secure lending solutions. Your expertise will power the configuration and optimization of our automated underwriting and loan origination systems, making lending more accessible and accurate. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping risk strategies and guiding innovation by implementing scoring models and alternative data. To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, SC or GA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila Headquarters (TFC), we encourage you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week.  For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance to TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Configure and Optimize Credit Systems: Manage and enhance the configuration of our credit risk and decisioning platforms to ensure seamless, accurate lending operations.

  • Drive Credit Origination Strategy: Administer and offer expert advice on automated underwriting and loan origination strategies that align with BECU’s credit risk goals.

  • Partner for Progress: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to streamline and elevate credit risk implementation.

  • Lead Credit System Administration: Plan and execute technical solutions, maintain configuration standards, and lead user acceptance testing to ensure system reliability.

  • Monitor and Report Performance: Create and review status reports on lending automation to maintain operational oversight and compliance.

  • Translate Vision to Reality: Convert business needs into clear, actionable software requirements, working with vendors to bring your insights to life.

  • Document for Clarity and Continuity: Maintain clear and comprehensive manuals and procedures that support long-term success and knowledge sharing.

  • Improve and Customize Workflows: Tailor existing practices and processes to meet evolving business and system needs.

  • Visualize and Communicate Processes: Create diagrams and workflows (e.g., sequence, activity, use-case) to clearly represent business processes and solutions.

  • Bridge Business and Tech: Map current vs. future state processes and turn them into technical test specifications that guide system enhancements.

  • Contribute Beyond the Role: Take on additional duties as needed to support the broader mission of the team and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/related discipline required, or equivalent work or education related experience.

  • Typically requires 7 years of experience in lending/credit operations, credit analytics/reporting, and/or business analytics.

  • Experience with BRMS platforms or rule engines. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience with FICO platform decision management. 

  • 5 years of experience configuring decision engines and/or scoring models.

  • 5 years of experience working on product/project teams, including process and procedure design and communications.

  • Experienced with multiple methods for creating and communicating strong Business Cases, including financial analysis, strategic alignment and risk analysis.

  • Demonstrated understanding of multiple and cross functional systems within lending origination systems.
