In this role, you will assist teams on accounting, finance, and operations workstreams for transformations of companies recently acquired by private equity or preparing for a transaction (private equity, credit, succession planning). Working closely with company leadership and investors, you will assist with finance function stand-up, establish accounting processes, build robust reporting packages, create short and long-range financial models with heavy emphasis on key assumptions driving the business, and elevate finance to be the data partner to all areas of the business. General knowledge of accrual accounting is important for both initial accounting of transactions and accurate, consistent FP&A.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of some combination of recent experience in: 1) industry finance (i.e. financial analyst, investment banking analyst) and/or 2) public accounting audit or consulting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with multiple transformation engagement workstreams including accounting, FP&A, operations and/or technology, often as part of interim finance leadership
  • Build robust reporting packages, create short and long-range financial models with heavy emphasis on key assumptions driving the business
  • Connect systems to business intelligence and AI tools to help leaders make strategic decisions for the business
  • Collaborate with portfolio company leadership and PE investors to identify opportunities for value creation during the investment period
  • Address and rectify financial information gaps by implementing robust accounting processes, policies, and procedures to ensure the generation of accurate financial data
  • Assist with preparation of opening balance sheets and post-close purchase price adjustments
  • Develop an understanding of the client's business and recognize key performance drivers, trends and developments, and identify performance improvement opportunities and recommend creative solutions to complex issues and broaden our business relationships where possible
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and meet the firm’s quality standards

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years in total of public accounting and/or operational finance leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college/university
  • High level comprehension of accounting principles coupled with ability to effectively communicate
  • Experience bridging accounting to FP&A and succinctly explaining key drivers of business results
  • Forward-thinking, interested in intersection of finance and technology, particularly BI and AI tools
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple client projects
  • CPA Certification preferred, not required
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to travel to client locations as required
