Catio is building the world’s first AI-powered Copilot for Tech Architecture—helping CTOs, architects, and developers plan high-ROI architectures, modernize and optimize their tech stacks, and make faster, smarter decisions using AI-driven intelligence. Backed by top-tier VCs and led by industry experts in AI, cloud, and enterprise architecture, we aim to democratize the intelligence and know-how for designing, evaluating, and evolving world-class tech stacks across industries worldwide.
DescriptionCatio is seeking a seasoned Senior SRE / DevOps Engineer to join our early team of builders, technologists, and cloud infrastructure experts. You’ll play a critical role in establishing the foundations of our AWS-based cloud operations and infrastructure-as-code strategy.
Unlike traditional DevOps roles focused on operational execution, our SREs are software engineers who build the platforms, tools, and automation that enable DevOps excellence at scale. They focus on engineering reliability into systems (not operating them) and create self-service infrastructure to empower other engineers to move quickly and safely.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a deeply technical product, designed for engineering leaders. You will lead and execute on a wide range of initiatives including:
Designing, implementing, and administering secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS infrastructure.
Developing infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or Helm to manage and evolve cloud environments.
Defining and deploying observability pipelines and dashboards across metrics, logs, and traces (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc) with Splunk being our preference and the tool of choice.
Writing internal documentation and structured reports on architectural decisions and infrastructure health.
Collaborating with the product and engineering teams to align infrastructure capabilities with evolving product needs.
Operating independently and proposing scalable, secure, and production-ready solutions with minimal guidance.
We are looking for a hands-on, independent technologist with a deep understanding of cloud-native infrastructure and DevOps tooling:
5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles with a strong AWS and Kubernetes focus.
Advanced expertise in cloud architecture design and administration of core AWS services (VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.).
Strong understanding of monitoring, logging and observability frameworks (preferably Splunk) and ability to set up custom dashboards.
Ability to analyze current traffic patterns and make technical recommendations for infrastructure choice appropriate for the business context.
Proficient in infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK.
Proven track record of owning production infrastructure and driving operational excellence at high-growth startups or SaaS companies.
Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines and security best practices in cloud environments.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex infrastructure topics into clear written reports and dashboards.
Self-starter mindset and thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments with limited structure.
Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2.
Experience with Kubernetes, Steampipe, or observability stacks.
Interest in architectural visualization, cloud governance, or cost optimization tooling.
Join a world-class team of AI, engineering, and business leaders from Splunk, Atlassian, Dropbox, and more to build a category-defining platform.
At Catio, we offer top-tier compensation for startups at our stage, ensuring highly competitive salaries along with significant equity in a rapidly growing, VC-backed company. We are also committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace and welcome applicants of all backgrounds and identities.
Join us and help revolutionize how companies plan and optimize their tech stacks using AI-driven intelligence!
