We are looking for a Senior Sourcing Manager (Battery) to own end-to-end supplier and commodity strategy for Oura’s battery category.  You will be the primary commercial decision‑maker for battery cost, capacity, and supply continuity across NPI and sustaining, partnering closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and our Contract Manufacturers to deliver a resilient, cost‑optimized battery supply base.

What you will do:

  • Develop sourcing strategies for complex custom batteries in next gen wearables (lithium ion, solid state, thin film), balancing safety, quality, cost, lead times, and supplier capabilities.
  • Serve as commercial owner for battery tech, aligning cell selection, pack architecture, and requirements across HW, SW, FW, product, and design with supply strategy to deliver safe, compliant, cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead supplier strategy to qualify new battery tech and vendors, build key partnerships, negotiate contracts, track performance, and drive improvement to ensure reliable supply.
  • Own end‑to‑end supplier and commodity strategy for battery cells and packs, including supplier selection, commercial structures, capacity alignment, and long‑term roadmap positioning
  • Act as the primary commercial decision‑maker for battery pricing, allocation, and trade‑offs across cost, risk, and supply continuity
  • Lead RFQ processes, cost modeling, negotiations, and management of cost variances across all battery cost elements
  • Drive disciplined supplier governance through structured QBRs/MBRs focused on capacity, clear‑to‑build readiness, delivery performance, quality, and cost
  • Own lifecycle execution for Battery, from early architecture alignment and technology down‑select through mass production and sustaining, while shaping long‑term supply resilience and cost competitiveness
  • Operate with urgency and ownership in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment, balancing near‑term build needs with long‑term strategic cost and technology roadmaps

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • 5+ years of work experience in strategic sourcing or procurement with a strong focus on battery components for consumer electronics
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain, or related field; Master’s Degree a plus
  • Proven experience in negotiating commercials and a deep understanding of battery cost structures and should-cost modeling
  • Strong understanding of battery technology and industry trends (e.g., lithium-ion chemistries, cell design, safety standards, next-generation technologies such as solid-state and thin-film)
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, can manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally
