As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding customers through design, deployment, testing, and operational rollout of secure solutions. Influence product direction through structured customer feedback and technical insight. Advance Defense-focused platform offerings integrating ICAM, Zero Trust, and AWS GovCloud architectures.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Serving as primary technical advisor guiding customers through architecture design, integration planning, deployment, and operational support.
  • Leading resolution of complex service-impacting issues using deep troubleshooting, log analysis, and systems-level programming.
  • Implementing cloud-native solutions within AWS GovCloud and regulated government cloud environments.
  • Acting as technical product owner by gathering feedback, prioritizing features, supporting release planning, and improving customer outcomes.
  • Partnering across engineering, operations, and support teams to identify root causes and implement durable improvements.
  • Mentoring engineers and contributing to architectural decisions shaping broader platform and reliability standards.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8 years of experience in software engineering, customer solutions, consulting, or professional services within regulated environments or its equivalent.
  • Possess active Secret clearance and maintain or obtain DoD 8140-aligned certification such as Security+ or CISSP.
  • Possess tenacious experience building trusted customer relationships and guiding technical implementations to successful outcomes.
  • Exhibit familiarity with Zero Trust and identity-centric architectures including OAuth2, SAML, OIDC, MFA, and least-privilege models.
  • Demonstrate experience delivering customer projects in government cloud environments while managing multiple priorities and ambiguity.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders across organizations.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 - $215,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
