Senior Software Product Manager, Utility and Energy Markets - GM Energy
Description
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center, Austin IT Innovation Center, or the Mountain View Technical Center three times per week, at minimum.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Product Manager, Utility and Energy Markets, is responsible for supporting the definition, implementation and execution of Utility and Energy Market software portfolio at GM Energy, in partnership with peer Product Managers, business stakeholders, and technical counterparts. This includes end to end customer program enrollment to managed charging event journeys, front-end UI requirements, along with backend managed charging logic and integrations. They will play a critical role in identifying, defining, managing cross-functionally, and executing the integration of various teams and solutions into the GM Energy Utility and Energy Market software solutions and customer journey. This includes but not limited to our business development, hardware charging product, sales, CRM, and GTM teams, etc.
The successful candidate is a self-starter, fast learner and always thinks customer first; can effectively prioritize and thrive in an ambiguous / fast-paced environment; and is passionate about utility and energy markets, understand EV and charging software architecture, and bring innovative ideas for how to aid in EV adoption and support customers buying and utilizing energy products and services.
This position reports to the Group Product Manager, Home Energy and Utility Software.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Software Product Manager for Utility and Energy Markets owning strategy and roadmap for the platform alongside the Software Product Management team
- Ownership and implementation of the front-end enrollment portal and backend managed charging logic; including planning, communication, reporting, analysis
- Define, write, prioritize, and manage product features, work with IT development teams to create user stories and user acceptance criteria, and manage the feature backlog to support the agile development of deliverables
- Understand and champion the customer needs; gather customer feedback through direct and indirect sources, and ensure product vision and roadmap those needs
- With IT development and PMO partners, participate in Refinement, Sprint and PI planning, sprint demos and program syncs
- Conduct effective project updates for stakeholders - including leadership - as required
- Identify and implement strategies to grow engagement among users
- Establish program measurement (KPIs, reporting) and monitor performance, recommend countermeasures where appropriate
- Perform research on new ideas / initiatives to further accelerate EV adoption & enable utilization of GM Energy software solutions
- Partner with IT-DEV and QA teams to ensure comprehensive user acceptance testing/training plans are developed/executed and applications are successfully transitioned to production
- Follow GM standard software development and deployment processes in functional specifications, user interface and database designs, testing methodology, training, and change management
- Support broader GM Energy strategies and projects as required

Key Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in product management, program management, and/or customer experience
- 3 years of experience working within software or a similar technical environment
- Familiarity with EV trends, utility industry, energy markets, and competitive landscape
- Ability to learn GM database tools as needed
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to report and present to senior leadership on a frequent basis

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
- The salary range for this role is ($110,200 - $176,100 ). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
