Job Summary:
Data is at the core of Socure’s mission to eliminate identity fraud. We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing high-performance data systems that power our next-generation identity verification products. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer passionate about big data, graph databases, and scalable architectures, with a strong drive for innovation and a deep focus on data integrity and security.

Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Engineering:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data pipelines for both batch and real-time processing.

  • Build and maintain data systems that power machine learning features, model inference, and analytics.

  • Develop high-quality, production-grade code in Java, Scala and python

  • Work with technologies like Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink, Airflow, AWS EMR and cloud-native data services on AWS

  • Apply graph data modeling techniques and leverage graph databases such as Neo4j or Amazon Neptune.

  • Optimize data architectures for cost, performance, and maintainability.
     

Technical Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Product, and Security to translate business needs into robust data solutions.

  • Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to promote engineering excellence.

  • Ensure all solutions comply with privacy regulations and PII protection standards.
     

Innovation and Best Practices:

  • Stay current with advances in data engineering, machine learning infrastructure, and cloud-native technologies.

  • Contribute to the evolution of Socure’s data engineering best practices, including CI/CD, testing, and monitoring.

  • Participate in open-source initiatives and represent Socure in technical forums when possible.
     

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related technical field.

  • 7+ years of experience building and supporting complex data systems and applications in cloud environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Java, Scala or python

  • Deep knowledge of distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Flink).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS)and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and DevOps/CI-CD best practices.

  • Experience in working with Airflow or other data pipeline orchestration services

  • Familiarity with building ML data pipelines (e.g., with Databricks, SageMaker, or similar platforms)

  • Has experience in developing and utilizing scalable, high-performance APIs.

  • Additional points for Experience with graph databases and graph algorithms.

Salary Disclosure
Base Salary range: $165,000 to $185,000
This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job related factors. Socure's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, equity, comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
