Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Software Engineer at its facility located at 540 W. Madison St., Chicago, IL 60661. Contribute to design, development, testing and deployment of software systems and/or applications. Perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision. Assigned more complex aspects of systems work. Work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that maybe used by one or more applications or systems. Drive application development focused around delivering business valuable features. Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness. Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that require careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. Perform other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor's, degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5 years of experience as a senior software engineer - UI or related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 3 years of experience as a senior software engineer - UI or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Developing customer facing applications using front-end frame works, libraries (React / Angular / Polymer / Vue) and design patterns; (2) Coding HTML 5, CSS3, JavaScript and Web Components; (3) Testing frameworks such as Jest; and (4) Deployment pipeline frameworks such as Azure DevOps and / or the Atlassian platform. Telecommuting: 4 days/week.
Summary Pay Range:
$148,949.00 - $179,640.00
Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market, location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
