What You'll Do
- Lead development of moderately complex features, driving team-wide technical initiatives from design through deployment.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Architecture teams to shape technical solutions that support strategic goals.
- Write clean, testable code and build robust integration and unit tests to ensure high code quality and maintainability.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, lead root cause analyses, and implement solutions that improve system reliability.
- Support on-call rotations, contribute to post-incident reviews, and drive a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
- Champion best practices in code reviews, architecture discussions, and team processes to elevate engineering quality.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment that values agility, continuous improvement, and shared ownership.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any relevant combination of education, experience, and training.
- At least 3 years of experience building web applications in Ruby on Rails or a similar MVC framework.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including writing SQL and designing schemas.
- Comfort with frontend basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript); exposure to frameworks like React is a plus.
- Practical understanding of cloud platforms, ideally GCP, including deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD workflows.
- A self-motivated and organized mindset with a track record of delivering quality code in a team environment.
- The ability to mentor others and influence technical decision-making.
- A sense of ownership and drive to continuously improve both your work and your team's outcomes.
