You will be designing and building the core systems that power Akamai's API Security. You will lead efforts to scale our code analysis pipeline, applying code analysis techniques and large language models (LLMs) to extract meaningful insights across polyglot codebases.

In this role you will be:

  • Driving the architecture and development of advanced backend components that process and analyze large-scale source code repositories.
  • Owning the full development lifecycle of complex features: designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and operating production-ready systems.
  • Conducting deep research into multiple programming languages and frameworks to expand platform coverage.
  • Innovating in the application of code analysis and LLMs to enable next-generation API discovery and documentation.
  • Mentoring other engineers and setting engineering best practices for scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems.
  • Working in an exploratory environment, turning vague tasks into clear objectives, approaches, and milestones.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • 8+ years of experience in the field.
  • Have a background in backend development with expertise in Pythonfamiliarity with at least one major backend framework.
  • Have experience across diverse languages and frameworks, with the ability to quickly adapt to new ecosystems.
  • Know modern CI/CD practices, microservices, and orchestration at scale.
  • Be proficient with SQL databases and schema design.
  • Be Experience working in an LLM/AI environment (prompt engineering, familiarity with the limits of LLMs).
  • Able to turn ambiguous challenges into actionable plans, prioritize well, and deliver results independently.
