About this role:
The COO Technology group provides technology services for the Chief Operating Office. This includes operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions and services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and the corporate properties group. COO Technology provides technology solutions and manages application portfolios for these groups to support modernization and optimization.
Within COO Technology we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Risk Program Office Technology (ERPOT) team. The ERPOT team supports Integrated Workplace Services, Control Management, Global Privacy, Accessibility & Accommodation Risk, Enterprise Front Line Risk functions under the Chief Administrative Office.
In this role, you will:
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom mobile app modules based on requirements
  • Integrate with customer systems via REST APIs, SSO, and third-party data sources
  • Collaborate with product team to ensure consistency with platform architecture and security standards
  • Participate in design reviews with the design team to ensure high-quality user experience and visual consistency
  • Perform code reviews and follow best practices for documentation, testing, and deployment
  • Maintain reusable components to internal UI libraries
  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years experience in web development in JavaScript (Node.js), HTML, CSS, and templating languages (e.g., Handlebars, EJS)
  • 4+ years of experience with RESTful APIs, OAuth/SAML, and working with external data sources
  • 4+ years of experience with version control (Git) and modern dev workflows (CI/CD)
  • 2+ years of experience working with relational database (examples: Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Modo Labs XModule framework
  • Experience with mobile app development
  • Experience working with business teams to gather business requirements to create solutions
  • Experience in Agile, Scrum and Jira
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks along with work efforts simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Ability to determine the most efficient and effective solution to address the problem at hand and use of a wide variety of business tools to meet user needs
  • Problem-solving, recommendation formulation, execution orientation, strong analytics capabilities, continuous improvement and risk management skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently with strong planning, prioritization, and follow-up skills in a structured environment with minimal supervision
