Agility Robotics is a pioneer. Our robot, Digit, is the first to be sold into workplaces across the globe. Our team is differentiated by its expertise in imagining, engineering, and delivering robots with advanced mobility, dexterity, intelligence, and efficiency -- robots specifically designed to work alongside people, in spaces built for people. Every day, we break through engineering challenges and invent new solutions and capabilities that will one day make robots commonplace and approachable. This work is our passion and our responsibility: our mission is to make businesses more productive and people’s lives more fulfilling.

About the Role

Agility Robotics is deploying humanoid robots that are solving real-world challenges in logistics and manufacturing. Perceiving and understanding the world is critical to Digit’s success in these applications. The Perception team is looking for a senior software engineer to develop state of the art localization and mapping algorithms for humanoid robots.

About the Work

  • Develop and deploy algorithms that enable large scale warehouse navigation, collision aware motion planning in dynamic environments, and scene understanding
  • Implement state of the art algorithms for visual/LiDAR inertial odometry, global relocalization, SLAM, local terrain/obstacle map generation, and object tracking
  • Collaborate with software teams to create data collection and analysis tools for continuous validation of mapping algorithms
  • Stay up to date with latest research and benchmark/prototype new approaches
  • Deliver high quality, production code to robots operating at customer sites

About You

  • 4+ years of experience deploying localization and mapping algorithms on mobile robots
  • Strong mathematical fundamentals in 3D geometry, linear algebra, probability theory, and numerical optimization
  • Deep proficiency in related technical areas such as (but not limited to) factor graphs, visual/LiDAR inertial odometry, sensor fusion, filtering, voxel maps, and truncated/euclidian signed distance fields
  • Experience working with various sensing technologies (monocular cameras, stereo cameras, LiDAR, IMU, etc.)
  • Strong modern C++ programming experience and familiarity with Python

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning based SLAM approaches
  • Experience in 6 DOF object tracking
  • Experience with GPU Programming (eg. CUDA, OpenGL)
  • Publications in your field (CVPR, ICCV, RSS, ICRA preferred)

Benefits

  • 401(k) Plan: Includes a 6% company match.
