The Opportunity
Teamworks is accelerating its investment in GenAI to redefine how sports organizations make decisions, optimize athlete performance, and operate at scale. We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build the intelligent infrastructure and product experiences that power AI across our platform.
This is a high-impact role on the Platform team, focused on taking GenAI from experimentation to production. You’ll design and ship real customer-facing AI features, build reusable GenAI infrastructure, and enable product teams across Teamworks to move faster with confidence. Your work will directly contribute to revenue growth, product differentiation, and the future technical foundation of Teamworks.
This position will report to our Senior Director, Platform Engineering.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and ship production-grade GenAI features
- Own GenAI features end-to-end, from system design and LLM integration through production deployment and iteration
- Build and maintain reusable GenAI platform components including LLM orchestration, prompt management, evaluation, observability, and cost controls
- Establish best practices for building, testing, and operating GenAI systems reliably in production
- Enable product engineering teams to ship GenAI-powered features through shared infrastructure, documentation, and hands-on support
- Make architectural decisions that balance speed, scalability, reliability, and cost across AI-driven systems
What You'll Bring
Must-haves:
- 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience building production systems
- 1+ years of hands-on experience shipping GenAI or ML-powered features into production (not just prototypes)
- Strong system design skills, with experience designing distributed, reliable, and observable services
- Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks (i.e Python, Flask, TypeScript, React) with experience integrating third-party APIs and services
- Comfort making architectural decisions when industry best practices are still emerging
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with LLM frameworks, orchestration tools, or model evaluation techniques
- Background in data platforms, event-driven systems, or real-time pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers, and CI/CD
- Experience enabling other teams through platform or developer-experience work
Who Thrives Here
You’re a builder who cares deeply about shipping real value, not just experimenting with new technology. You enjoy working in undefined problem spaces, think holistically about systems, and take pride in creating solutions that other engineers love to use. You see GenAI as a product capability, not just a model integration, and you’re excited to help define how an entire organization builds with AI.
