We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the end-to-end ICHRA Engineering team at eHealth. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a greenfield initiative, shaping reusable systems and high-performance user experiences from the ground up. This team will deliver consistent, high quality and intuitive user experience across the entire ICHRA business flow. This team will develop user experience, build the service layer and build integrations with banking and other partners.
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to create fast, accessible, and maintainable interfaces using modern frameworks and standards. You will also help define the architecture, component strategy, and performance optimization practices for the team.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build scalable, performant, and reusable components using a modern JavaScript framework such as Vue.js, React.js, Next.js, and Nuxt.js
- Apply advanced CSS layout techniques (grid, flexbox, breakpoints) for responsive and mobile-friendly interfaces
- Leverage Node.js and JavaScript ES6+ to build modern applications integrated with backend services
- Collaborate with UX and Product teams to translate Figma designs into technical implementations
- Implement solutions that align with microservices architecture and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns
- Drive performance audits and apply best practices for optimization and key UX metrics
- Champion code quality, modularity, and maintainability through code reviews and technical mentorship
- Participate in sprint planning, feature decomposition, and dependency identification
- Work with CMS platforms like WordPress for hybrid or content-driven applications
- Demonstrate eHealth’s values in your behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of development experience in modern JavaScript frameworks
- Deep understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and component-based design
- Hands-on experience with Vue.js, React.js, Nuxt.js, Next.js, and Node.js
- Familiarity with performance tooling (Lighthouse, WebPageTest) and optimization strategies
- Understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs, client-side routing, and server-side rendering (SSR)
- Experience working in an agile development environment and CI/CD workflows
- Experience with any of the following tools: CodeCanvas, PixelForge, or DesignDock is a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- Secured coding experience, such as OWASP top 10 and secured coding with sensitive PHI/PII data elements
Nice to Have
- Experience with GraphQL, BFF architecture, and building schema-driven UIs
- Familiarity with CMS platforms like WordPress, Headless CMS, or Gatsby
- Exposure to Oracle, Postgres, or MongoDB
- Experience with A/B testing, feature flagging, or analytics (e.g., Adobe Target, Launch)

The base pay range reflects the anticipated pay range for this position. The actual base pay offered will depend on various factors including individual skills, experience, performance, qualifications, the department budget, and the location where work is performed.
