Given our exceptional growth, we are expanding and hiring a Software Engineer to join us on this exciting journey. Do you fancy yourself a polyglot but have a passion for modern languages such as Go and Terraform? Are self-motivation and dedication two attributes that shine brightly in you as a professional? At Bishop Fox, you will work with a team of brilliant technologists to develop the most innovative offensive SaaS (Software as a Service) platform on the market. Flexibility will be an asset to you in this role, as will some amount of creativity since you will need to think on your feet quite often. Each day will bring new challenges and unfamiliar problems for you to solve. Most importantly, you will look at what we are doing and fill in the gaps where we might be missing a crucial thing or two. Furthermore, you are more than capable of knocking out things quickly as well – and not sacrificing quality in the process. 

Responsibilities 

  • Engineer tooling and technologies to bring scale to the Bishop Fox microservice platform. 
  • Integrate new tools with platform supplied services to streamline support and maintenance efforts. 
  • Understand and break down technical platform and product requirements to ensure clear tasks 
  • Perform SME duties relating to Bishop Fox’s core service providers; AWS (Amazon Web Services), GitHub, and Azure. 


Requirements 

  • 5-8 years of software engineering experience 
  • Experience in cloud-compatible development language(s) - Go and Terraform experience required (personal projects or professional) 
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience strongly preferred 
  • Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL) - PostgreSQL preferred 
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis) 
  • Earlier experience in platform library software engineering 
  • Understanding of secure coding practices 
  • Interest in or experience with public cloud capabilities is a huge plus 
  • An interest in cybersecurity would be ideal 
  • A degree is nice to have but by no means a necessity 
  • Emotional intelligence + ego-less intelligence 
  • Flexibility: you adapt to dynamic environments well 
  • Autonomy – you work well on your own
