Gradient AI:

This is a fully remote opportunity. Gradient AI is revolutionizing Group Health and P&C insurance with AI-powered solutions that help insurers predict risk more accurately, improve profitability, and automate underwriting and claims. Our SaaS platform taps into one of the industry’s largest data lakes—tens of millions of policies and claims—to deliver deep, actionable insights. Trusted by leading carriers, MGAs, TPAs, and self-insured employers, Gradient AI has grown rapidly since our founding in 2018. Backed by $56M in Series C funding, we're scaling fast—and it's an exciting time to join the team.

About the Role:

We are looking for back end senior software engineers to build and improve our AI/ML claims and underwriting platforms. The ideal candidate is a lifelong learner who knows Python, with strong analytical skills and an interest in Machine Learning.

How you will make an impact:

  • Contribute to any and all parts of our flow for developing and deploying our high-volume predictive models, including API development
  • Utilize our tech stack that includes Python (Pandas, NumPy and PyTorch), Kubernetes, Git, Flask, Docker, SQL, and more in a Linux environment
  • Be involved in high-level design and architecture decisions, as well as hands-on development
  • Integrate Gradient AI’s propriety and 3rd party data and Machine Learning models into high-performance client-facing APIs and analytics.
  • Work closely with our data science and data engineering teams to design and develop robust ML Ops pipelines

 Skills needed to succeed:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience with Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and PyTorch or similar.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Bash Scripting, and Git; understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a bonus
  • Exposure with AWS tools or similar cloud tools
  • Prior experience working with Data Science teams and productionizing machine learning models is nice to have

What We Offer:

  • A fun, team-oriented startup culture.
  • Generous stock options - we all get to own a piece of what we’re building.
  • Unlimited vacation days.
  • Flexible schedule that supports working from home.
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more.
  • Ample opportunities to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Paid parental leave

We are an equal opportunity employer.
