As a Senior Software Developer at Spectrum, you'll design, develop and optimize robust software systems that drive innovation across key initiatives. Your mastery of development tools and commitment to excellence will support the innovative projects that power Spectrum's success.
This position is in an office environment with a hybrid work schedule. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Design, develop and enhance software systems to support new and existing business initiatives
  • Lead code review sessions and validate adherence to Spectrum development standards
  • Perform coding, unit testing and integration testing to ensure software meets business and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with internal customers and technical teams to solve complex software problems
  • Mentor and coach less experienced staff, guiding them toward best practices
  • Serve as the final escalation point for resolving incidents and production issues within supported applications
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and provide system analysis and feedback to stakeholders
  • Influence system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements
  • Participate in continuous performance improvement sessions to identify opportunities for process and standard enhancements

What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience

Experience
  • 6+ years experience with major database management systems
  • 6+ years experience in coding, testing and software design
  • 6+ years experience with software development methodologies

Skills
  • Knowledge of Voice, Data, Video and Wireless technologies
  • Understanding of software design patterns and principles
  • Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and actions to improve or correct performance
  • Ability to evaluate alternatives and make recommendations in situations with ambiguity and incomplete information
  • Proven capability to manage individual tasks and work within a team
  • Creative and abstract thinking to design innovative solutions to business challenges
  • Proven independent work skills including designing, developing and deploying solutions and delivering projects with minimal direction
  • Effective listening and evaluation skills to contribute to a common standard of excellence
  • Technical knowledge of IT field and computer systems
  • Strong written, interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting and negotiating with business stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and processes
  • Demonstrated leadership including sharing knowledge, resolving conflict and creating consensus
  • Ability to take the lead on complex projects
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
