We are living through a pivotal moment for reproductive and sexual health—and Hey Jane is uniquely positioned to help.

From day one, we've been committed to providing safe, discreet medication abortion treatment—and have helped more than 85,000 people get the care they need. Today, we offer a range of reproductive and sexual health care services from the comfort and convenience of your phone.  Our in-house clinical care team, composed of board certified doctors, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and patient care advocates, is just a text message away. We’re committed to helping our patients get safe, discreet, judgment-free virtual health care, from a team that truly cares.

Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Media and Community Manager who is equal parts creative and data driven, thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, and feels incredibly passionate about the role social media can play in connecting people to essential reproductive health care.

As Senior Social Media and Community Manager, you will be responsible for both setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to make it happen across our key digital platforms, such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, and more. You will manage the planning, creation, curation, and execution of all content—including creating graphics, shooting and editing video content, appearing on camera, and writing captions—as well as reporting on these efforts (and making strategic decisions based on these real-time learnings). You will also spearhead our influencer and community programs, leveraging partnerships to find creative and innovative ways to reach new audiences who can amplify our efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media (including trends and innovation in the space), a sharp eye for high-impact content, an aptitude for measurement and performance monitoring, excellent project management skills, and a drive for ongoing improvement.

Why this role matters
This isn’t your average social media role: Nearly half of all Hey Jane patients tell us they first turned to a friend, family member, or social media when considering their options—meaning that, through your work, you’ll be making a tangible impact and helping shape the future of reproductive and sexual health care access in the US.

You are:

  • An excellent and enthusiastic communicator with 5+ years of related experience in social media/community management
  • Someone with a proven track record of identifying and leveraging what makes different social media platforms tick: trends, functionalities, best practices, partnerships, hashtags, and platform updates
  • Experienced in following brand and/or messaging guidelines, overseeing an editorial calendar, writing scripts and captions, managing partnerships, and developing an influencer program
  • Results driven with an openness to receiving feedback
  • Independent but extremely reliable when it comes to hitting deadlines and juggling multiple projects
  • An adaptable learner who thrives in a quickly moving startup environment
  • Passionate about abortion and reproductive care—and excited to join a growing team that is changing the face of health care as we know it!

You will:

  • Work directly with Hey Jane’s VP of Marketing to develop our overarching owned and paid social media strategy aligned to growth goals and business needs
  • Ideate, develop, design, write, film, edit, and create thumb-stopping content about abortion, reproductive care, and more in order to help attract, engage, and grow our audience across social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, etc.)
  • Build out an influencer program and manage our influencers, contracted content creators, partners, and communities (including the Un-Whisper Network and our campus ambassador program) and ensure that their content is aligned with our brand messaging, identity, and aesthetics
  • Track, report, and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics for all social channels (including owning spreadsheets and decks that clearly communicate learnings, trends, and opportunities)—and be able to identify ways we can quickly pivot and improve as needed
  • Embody the voice of Hey Jane and respond to messages and comments, as well as actively engage with other accounts across all platforms
  • Keep up with the latest social media trends (news, memes, celebrities, music, etc.) and partners (whether it’s influencers, creators, or other organizations) and find brand-right ways to incorporate them into our contentCollaborate with the marketing team and other cross-functional partners at Hey Jane
  • Be a thoughtful, visionary storyteller around abortion and reproductive care during this pivotal moment
