The Senior Security Engineer will design and build security tools, manage automated processes, and contribute to the Game Warden platform's security.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to support our Security team. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial team working at the convergence of technology and national security. The work will be dynamic and wide-ranging within Security and scale of our Second Front Suite, including our Game Warden platform.
Our Cybersecurity team is responsible for ensuring the security of cloud-native tools and services for Second Front business and product teams, with an emphasis on automation and customer experience.
As a Sr Cloud Security Engineer at Second Front Systems you will design, build, and integrate security tools to enable vulnerability detection, mitigation, monitoring, and response. You will work to automate processes and design and adapt IaC with Pulumi in Golang, Rust, and other languages. This role will require learning new things like developing security tools, assessing risk, solving big problems, speaking your mind, and contributing to a culture of diversity, innovation, and excellence. This role is key to the security of the Game Warden platform and its underlying applications.
Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
Candidates must be located in the following geographic locations: DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia), Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, Denver/Colorado Springs, and Dallas/Fort Worth
What You'll Do
- Coordinate activities with Principal Security Engineer and DevSecOps Engineering Team.
- Design, manage, and update IaC with Pulumi.
- Design, build, and implement microservices.
- Maintain and adapt SIEM and Security Tooling.
- Document the applications and processes you create.

Qualifications
- Experience solving complex problems and designing application logic.
- Extensive knowledge of hyperscale cloud security, DevSecOps tools, and software development concepts.
- Ability to create and implement incident response plans.
- Contributed to or created a disaster recovery plan from scratch.
- Established architectures and designs for highly secure environments.
- Kubernetes knowledge and understanding of networking.
- Background in cybersecurity and understanding of vulnerability risk analysis.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP security architecture services. For example, IAM, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail, Sentinel Entra ID, and WAF.7+ years of relevant experience.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Ability to attain 8570 baseline IAT 2 Certification within 6 months of hire date.
- Ability to learn Golang and similar languages.
- Infrastructure as Code like Terraform, Pulumi, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Department of Defense DevSecOps practices, policies, and security.
- Experience with Docker, Gitlab, Kubernetes
- Rust, or the willingness to learn Rust
- Data Engineering or Science Experience a plus
