What You'll Do
Own test automation end-to-end — architect, build, and maintain robust, scalable automated test frameworks purpose-built for Smart TV and connected device ecosystems.
Build platform-specific quality strategies — design test approaches covering UI/UX, video playback, and performance testing across Roku, AndroidTV, tvOS, Tizen, WebOS, and beyond.
Embed quality into CI/CD — integrate automated test suites into continuous integration pipelines to enable rapid, reliable release cycles with confidence.
Hunt down the hardest bugs — investigate, reproduce, and report complex defects, working closely with engineers to isolate root causes in platform-specific codebases.
Tame resource-constrained devices — identify memory leaks, CPU bottlenecks, and video streaming degradation on low-power living room devices that others give up on.
Measure what matters — define, instrument, and track metrics for streaming performance, app health, and user experience, and coach the team on using data to guide quality decisions.
Multiply the team’s speed and confidence — provide expert QA guidance, perform thoughtful test and app reviews, and actively coach and accelerate other engineers.
Partner deeply across disciplines — work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to build quality in from concept to launch and beyond.
Lead through influence — share knowledge in brownbags, workshops, hackathons, and cross-team forums to raise the quality bar across the organization.
Strengthen our foundation — contribute to technical documentation and test plans that scale knowledge across Product and Engineering.
Own quality across the TV experience—from framework to flawless release. As the Senior SDET on our TV Apps team, you’ll be the champion of quality and automation for Angel’s living room streaming applications. You’ll design and build the test infrastructure that makes shipping to Roku, AndroidTV/FireTV, AppleTV, and other platforms feel like turning on a light. You’ll move fast, raise the bar, and make quality everyone’s competitive advantage.
You will:
This role is for someone who believes quality is a feature, thrives in constrained environments, and wants to leave a lasting mark on how millions experience streaming on Smart TVs.
What Success Looks Like
Releases ship on time and with confidence — automated coverage gives the team the freedom to move fast without breaking things.
Device-specific bugs get caught before customers find them, even on the oldest, slowest hardware.
Your frameworks are so reliable and well-documented that other engineers build on top of them without hesitation.
The CI/CD pipeline is a quality gate everyone trusts — not a bottleneck they try to skip.
Your impact on quality culture is visible: engineers ship more confidently, and regressions are caught earlier every sprint.
What You'll Need
A builder’s mindset with a bias for quality — excited to push the boundaries of automated testing and modernize how world-class streaming experiences are validated.
Deep technical judgment — a passion for thoughtful framework design and architectural planning that produces test suites that are resilient, maintainable, and built to last.
A developer-experience multiplier — motivated to level up how the team ships by improving tooling, test coverage, CI/CD workflows, and overall code and quality health.
Comfort operating at high velocity — able to deliver quality work in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements, without losing attention to detail.
Strong ownership and initiative — you spot gaps in coverage, define a plan, and execute end-to-end with urgency and accountability.
Expert collaborator and communicator — able to clearly articulate test strategies, present tradeoffs, and partner effectively across engineering, product, and design.
Relentless attention to detail — you notice what others miss and care deeply about correctness, performance, and polish.
Highly organized and adaptable — able to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and adjust quickly as conditions change.
Resourceful problem solver — comfortable tackling open-ended quality challenges and finding pragmatic solutions when the path isn’t obvious.
Growth-oriented and feedback-driven — you proactively seek, give, and act on meaningful feedback with positive intent, consistently turning it into better outcomes for yourself, your peers, and the team.
Always learning — quick to pick up new tools, platforms, and testing paradigms, and eager to apply them effectively and teach them to others.
An owner and leader — you execute with high energy, share context freely, insist on candor, and raise the bar for everyone around you.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
